This is really lovely, and very creative! I'd never heard or even thought about textured glass before. Where did you get it? Should I just search for "textured glass"?
I like Dick's change, tho the effect is very slight. I guess I sort of favor the eye to be drawn upward in composition, rather than downward. I also like it to move from left to right. However, that's just a personal preference -- I think. I don't think I read any rules on it. Dick? |

This is beautiful! I've never seen or heard of the insect before, so I googled it. I think your picture is better than about 85-90% of those that one gets on a google. Love the little hairs on the creature and the green it is on. Love the lines on the tail. Great work! |

Sorry to disagree with Dick, but I didn't really need an explanation. I could see it was some kind of costume, and was oversized, or otherwise falling off. I liked the texture of the pant a whole lot, and especially the crown feature of the Christmas-y red. I found it engaging without explanation. |

I appreciate your comments, but I need help understanding them. I don't know what you mean when you say I adjusted the exposure. I didn't do anything in post-processing except cropping, and my LR Classic in develop confirms that. So where are you getting the info and how could I not do it or do it differently?
As for the histogram, I know what it is and where to find it, but how can you tell something is "blown out"? Is it high or low? What is the measurement (height or depth) that indicates something? And if I were to see the red was blown out, what adjustment would I make to fix it?
Finally, I used manual focus and image stabilizer off, as you have suggested. At each aperture over about 8, I took 4 shots: 2 focused on whole bouquet, with focus between the closest and farthest flowers, light on, then light off, then 2 more focused on this flower, which was the closest. Light off was much better in LR Classic, while light on looked better in the playback on the camera. I chose a cropped close up of 1 flower with light off.

No-I know nothing about them. What and where are they? |

I love what you did in post-processing. I'm just a beginner at that, and it's still 85% Greek to me, but I like everything you've done, including the bird, but I think the colors in the sky could be a little more muted. |

I think it's gorgeous! I love the composition that moves from lower left to upper right. I love the intense texture and color variations. Good for you for seeing and then capturing a great moment! |

Very pretty -- and congrats to you for getting out! Thanks for the tip on the I-phone 12 pro max. I didn't know they'd gotten to raw yet. When my 7 dies, I'll get one!
I like the gold -- it sets off the images as a frame would. However, it seems too wide and a little "chintzy." I don't know enough about these things to know if you had any better options, but the gold frame you added definitely helps.

This is nice. Love the shadows (including those of the the blinds) and the addition of the earring, and especially its shadow. Definitely different from your prior work. |

What a gorgeous bird! Love this shot-love the monochrome, the mud, the horizontal lines in the background, the rugged unevenness of the upper small feathers, and all the mud in the breast and rest of the bird.
Now how tall were your boots when you managed to capture this, or were you far enough away that your 2X teleconverter let you stay dry? Great work, seizing the moment! |
