Very pretty and interesting. I like the fact the flowers are at an angle. I might like it better if the angle were pointed a bit more toward the upper right corner. Lovely contrast in texture between the flowers and leaves and snow. I find it hard to believe these flowers would grow through the snow and bloom. Did you gather the snow as a supporting background? Or did the snow fall after the flowers had bloomed? Or what? I'm guessing there's a secret here! |

Great shot, and good for you for recognizing a good subject when you happen to run into it! Isn't it interesting how much mold looks like cotton candy? Agree with Dick's comments -- great for a textbook photo of whatever kind of mold it is. |

A very pretty and interesting subject - creative! I agree, however, that the background is distracting and competes with the main subject. I think I like Dick's crop and adjustments, too. |

Gorgeous flower. Love the white stripes on the lower petal, and your white background. I would like to see the whole of the flower. And unfortunately, a lot of the flower is out of focus. This is your first time, so welcome! I've been around a while, but I'm still a beginner. Dick gave me a great comment some time after I joined on how to get these things in focus. I went back to other rounds to try to refer you to it, but I couldn't find it. So I'll try to remember, and Dick can correct me or add to my suggestions: Use a tripod and cable release (you need these because your shot is going to be a very long one, second-wise). Set your iso at 100 or 200 to avoid noise, unless you have a really good reason to go up. Put it in aperture priority. Then go from about f/8 on up, taking pictures at each f/ stop. Then look at them and take the best, or get an idea of your direction and try some more. Have fun, most of all-and welcome again! |

Adorable! Love how the babies are spaced so nicely and regularly apart. Love the mom's straight neck. I, too, might like to see more of the mom's body -- maybe even 3/4 of it to tie up with the 2 babies we see 3/4 of. However, who knows what's in the background, and in any event, this is a great shot and uplifting in a time when we need it! |

I think this is really intriguing, and I like the monotone. It emphasizes the mysterious figure, and the loneliness, while in the color version I find the spots of golden brown very eye-catching and distracting. |

This is gorgeous! I love the nearly monotone, but touched with brown of the main parts, and the fabulous gold of the trees. I do agree with Lauren and Karl about the road -- should be one consistent line, the lighter version, in my opinion. |

I think I agree with Karl the most: this is a photo that evokes more from the viewer than it tells us about the subject. Why is she facing the wall? Why are her shoulders and neck only in the light? What would she see if she turned around? Is she totally naked? Why? There is a lot to ponder in this photo, and that's great! |

Great shot and interpretation. I really like what you did in post processing, as it clarifies and highlights the main subject. While I love the lower leafs, if it had been mine, I would have tried to remove the one coming out of her head and clone the background flowers to that spot, if I could have succeeded in doing that, which is doubtful! |

Gorgeous and creative! In general, I love what you did in post-processing, but I might have toned down the green on all sides just a bit in order to give a little more emphasis to the tulip. |

Gorgeous! I love the macro. And I had guessed dandelion, but not seed. I can't give any "improvement" comments, as I would not have been able to do this in the first place! (I'm here to learn.) |

Great comments - very helpful. Problem is, when I fell down the stairs a year ago, I broke my ankles in 3 places, and squatting down to take the photo was not something that entered my head, as if I went down in nowhere, I might well not have been able to get up. But I agree with you on the angle entirely! |
