You are so right! I couldn't find the connecting thing between my camera and my tripod, and there was only one nice flower in my garden. |

I see how it works for you, but unfortunately my garage has cars in it. |

Thanks, I ordered one (B & W Circular Polarizer) as I like to shoot on my kitchen table and there is a window and it has no curtains as it faces our garden. |

I shot this indoors at my kitchen table. The light was coming from the window.
Given my Canon camera, what brand of polarizer would you recommend? |

Although I can see what most of you are saying about the blown out places and the sharpness, I prefer the larger crop I did as I liked having the leaves in there to give context and I liked the reflection of the flower in the plexiglass. Perhaps I have a different view of sunlight -- I think it's pretty when it shines on natural objects in unusual ways. Obviously, that's just a personal preference. |

Beautiful! So sharp. Absolutely love the composition--the slight diagonal, the placement of the milkweed, the crop. Also, such nice colors and everything so well set off by the black background. |

Razor sharp! Love the placement of the books from the standpoint of composition. Nice assortment of colors. Titles tell us about your interests. Glasses are a great touch! |

Good for you for getting this shot at all! Still, I agree with Dick that cropping it gives more visual focus on the dragonfly, which is the subject. While I do agree the sunlight makes for hot spots, I also think it lends a sense of "naturalness" to the photo. |

Really, really interesting photo! I love the idea of shooting ice. I love the interesting shapes in the ice. I don't understand what the little hair-like things are emanating on the right side are, but they're eye-attracting. I can't really make out the water fall at all, and for that reason I like Dick's crop. Love the B & W! |

I love this shot. Very in keeping with the times. I'm trying to find my sewing machine. I've heard elastic is nearly impossible to find, so I see you're sewing the ties with cloth. Great! And I don't mind the left to right view at all. I think the eye follows the composition across the photo just fine. Also, as a right-handed person who sometimes sews, this is the view you would have. |

What an interesting and beautiful photo -- especially the post processing. I love the burgundy colors, the aqua and the gold. Great work, and good for you for having the courage to go out at midnight exploring grunge!!! |

Oh Wow! What a photo! And a really interesting story, too. Good for you for supporting the project. And congrats on the creativity to put talcum powder inside the balloon. Well done! |

A great example of capturing the time we're in! Great job of putting the peppers into a nice composition. I love the textures of your tile and counter. I like having the medallion in the background. The only thing that bothers me is the way that the spray head on the bottle and the medallion and then the level bottom of the counter sort of make a square. That isn't as great a composition as the peppers are. Don't know if anything could have been done about that. Still, great job, and love the monotone. |

Way to catch a moment! You know, I think this is a shot which could be interpreted in post processing in many ways. I like what you've done, but I think I would have approached it differently. To me, what is most exciting is what I think you call a sun shower -- the wavy lines above the ground. That's why I like original 2. I would have kept the light on those as is --stunning. Then I would have darkened the bottom green, but not the orangish hills behind. I like the contrast between the orange of the hill and the light on the sun shower wavy stuff. Still -- good for you for seizing a moment and grabbing your camera! |

I can make out the face and the mask and shoes. I can make out that it's public transportation. I like the use of black and white. However, the whole thing seems blown out, and I don't get the blotches, which seem to be on a semi-transparent wall some distance in front of the main subject. Were you shooting through a dirty window on the other side of the train?

Gorgeous blossoms and photo of them! I love the composition. I like the touch of pink. I like what you did to the background -- it's definitely an improvement in that it makes the main blossoms the focus. I wonder, however, if you could have made the background dark or even black. That would have brought the blossoms even more to the forefront. Still, great job! |
