This is a really eye-catching photo. Did you take it lying down? I love the yellow, and was amazed to hear and see it's natural. I love the texture on the top and bottom of the mushroom, and the bits hanging off the edges and peeling off the stem. The grass is wonderfully natural, and the different weeds, etc., add interest with their slightly different colors and different sizes, shapes, and textures. I'm not ready for focus stacking yet, but it sure must be great! |

Oh, lovely! How did you replace the background? I know how to clone something in the photo in PS and move it in, but what did you use that was black?
I love the other changes, too!
The foam board I got for a background is supposed to be black, but it's not. I recently got Janet's black acrylic (small), and I also got some black fabric (large) and numerous felt colored pieces (small). |

What a great and creative idea! I love the second (wavy) circle just before the color starts. I don't know that I think the shininess is distracting -- I rather like it. It helps direct the eye to the inner circle. However, the two dark red pencils at the bottom don't have the shiny line on them, and that then would perhaps be a flaw.
I, too, considered if it would be better -- or worse? -- if the entire thing were circular. I thought maybe it's best as it is, but I wouldn't have been sure without looking at the whole circle. Did you? |

I think the mail flower and stem are very pretty and nicely lit. I agree, though, with others that the flowers in the background right and left are distracting. I think there are a number of ways you could have done this -- like cutting the stem and putting it with a different background, or editing out the background flowers. I am only just beginning to do such things, so I won't venture to more specific advice.
Lovely subject though, and great lighting. |

Thank you! I'm patting myself on the back for finding my tripod, buying a new head and a cable release, and figuring out how to set it all up and get a picture that was in focus, for a change! (I had a bad fall months ago and broke my right shoulder in 2 places -now it has a plate and screws, and I also broke my ankles in 3 places. So lifting and being limber enough to go upstairs and find the tripod and set these things all up has been a challenge.) |

This is a lovely, sharp photo. I, too, particularly like the reflection. I think I even would have liked to see the whole reflection, though perhaps that would have pushed the flower too far back. Maybe take from a slightly higher angle to get it all?
What is the flower on that you got that lovely reflection? |

What a wonderful, creative idea! I think he looks like he's pondering the grinning skeleton (maybe a threatening grin!). I can't believe what you accomplished with the two photos, and what a challenging, educational journey you went on to get this done. Good work! |

I love the concept, story, and eeriness of this. Also, the sepia tones. The reflection of the man is wonderful. However, I do find the reflection to the left of the woman to be distracting. I don't have any idea how it could be removed, but I bet it could. |

It was sunset. And I'm sure you're right that post-processing would have helped (I'm learning and practicing!). But, to be honest, it never occurred to me to try to process a jpeg - I have a Canon EOS Mark IV and shoot in raw (I'm still learning the miracles of the camera!). But I was at a family wedding and only had my phone. |

I found this disquieting. I don't mean to be prudish - just honest. With the nudity, her hostile expression, and the rope, it made me think of a woman being held captive as a sex slave climbing up to her captor for food and whatever else he has in mind. |

A very stark and lonely photo. I like the monotone--it fits with the starkness of the setting. I think it would have been improved with cropping--cutting out the right and left sides so the palms and road in the forefront are more clearly the subjects. |
