6 Sep 19 Comment I love the composition and the wonderful, delicate variation of the colors. Great job! Sep 28th
6 Sep 19 Comment Great composition! Love the detail and clarity. Good choice of color for background, considering the color of the dried grapes. I also love the shadows! Sep 25th
6 Sep 19 Comment Just an explanation -- one of the things I like to do is to use macro to go so close up that the subject becomes unrecognizable. Then I'd like to get good enough at editing to try to make the photo look like fine art (abstract), even tho it's a photo. Is that not proper for macro?

You all have been so negative about the "unrecognizable" part of it, that I just shot a flower for next month. But hopefully someone will tell me if I should post unidentifiable macro photos here (maybe just in my fine arts group)?

6 Sep 19 Comment Fabulous! However, I do agree rotating it a bit counter-clockwise would be an improvement. Sep 24th
6 Sep 19 Comment I agree with everyone else. What's underneath is distracting. I don't yet know PS, but I think you could change it in that. Also, the outer edges of the wings seem a bit out of focus. But goodness -- how much time do we have to think as we whip out our camera to catch a butterfly! Good for you for getting it at all! 6 Sep 19 Comment I really look forward to your interesting shots - creatures I've never seen before. Amazing creature this -- what a mouth (?) !

I agree with others that it needs more DOF - near front and far rear a bit fuzzy.

6 Sep 19 Reply Great idea, Janet! I think I've got a shot for next month that's actually in focus. Just took it a few days ago. . . . Sep 12th
6 Sep 19 Reply Thanks!!!!! Sep 11th
6 Sep 19 Comment I love the DOF and clarity. Amazing with a cellphone!

Sorry to be a dummy, but what exactly is a macro lens that goes on a cellphone?

6 Sep 19 Reply Very well done, Dick! I like the closer up view of the ant. Sep 11th
6 Sep 19 Reply I like your original composition better than the closer cropped version - just a different opinion. Sep 11th
6 Sep 19 Reply See my comments to Dick, below. I know I need to use a tripod, but it's hidden somewhere upstairs, and my ankles are still so fragile and shaky I haven't had the ability to go up and carry down much yet. I'll get there-but probably not for another month or two. Sep 10th
6 Sep 19 Reply I agree entirely. I am getting enough better to have the energy to try out some of the suggestions you all have been making. Did that today for next month. Thanks for all your groups' comments which I've been saving and reviewed today before working! Sep 10th

79 Sep 19 Comment I too agree about removing the markers and the concrete rectangle. Once that was done (wish I knew how to do it), I'd reconsider the cropping. This is a terrific landscape with great soft hues and eye-catching lines--wonderful shot and terrific to work with! Sep 29th
79 Sep 19 Comment Bravo Karl - and thanks!

Great shot, Judith!

79 Sep 19 Comment Wonderful! I hope to learn to do something like this one day. I'm working on it!
So very painterly!

79 Sep 19 Comment I love the composition, with the center of the flower off center and the extra petals (or are they leaves) spreading out to the left. I think you did a great job with the editing - the monotone rose/purple is stupendous! Sep 24th
79 Sep 19 Comment I found this image very interesting, as well as all the comments. I like the original composition best. My only suggestion is that I found the prominent blood vessel going from her mid-chest area down through the right breast (in the original orientation) to be distracting. You might remove it with editing.
I also agree that it's a shame there's so little contrast between the grass and her hair. I don't know enough about editing to know if that can be changed.

79 Sep 19 Reply Ditto! Sep 10th
79 Sep 19 Reply Thanks! I'm working on getting more depth of field and I'm signed up for an all day Photoshop class in October. Little by little, I hope to improve!
