Wow, thank you so much, Peter for your kind comments. As I make more images, I am becoming more confident in what I'm doing. I realize that there are some people who believe that photography should be a certain way, very close to realism and they are uncomfortable with deviations from that. I'm so happy to have found this group with all of the different ideas and possibilties for using a camera as an artistic tool. |

I agree with you completely. I love making intentional camera blurs. I'll probably post one next month. |

Brian, thank you for yur feedback. I'm glad that you love my image. I like to do non-tradtional photography (I also do tradtional photograhy) but often I'm thinking there's no audience for it. I'm becoming less attached to that and now think some of these responses are humorous. I'm not sure I see the bear but I think it's cool that you do. I believe one of the purposes of art is to make you think, and it sounds like this piece did that. |

I like this image of your granddaughter and the line from her gaze out of the frame. This creates some tension (in a good way) in that I wonder what she's looking at. I also like the rays coming from the direction of her gaze. This image is complelling. |

Such an interesting perspective. The greens are a vibrant color and the trees look massive. I'm wondering about bringing in a sky as the circular image leads my eye to the big, bright white center. |

Were it not for the title, I would not guess this was about shopping. I was thinking Star Wars and someone coming out of these light rays. |

In my opinion this is well thought out with a good balance among the elements. I really think the repetition of the reds was a good idea and helps to unify the whole piece. Nice job. |

These are interesting and I like how you used complimentary colors on some of them. I also think like how the swirls and cirucular shapes are similar but maintain differences in detail, especially since they are being considered as a group. |

It was the fur and feathers that helped to define those edges. |

Thank you so much, Walter. And thanks for noticing those shadows, I did work on them to get back just a hint of detail. |

I like the crop on the original much better. I also like the light on her face in the original as the final is rather muddy. I'm wondering if these got mixed up? The sharpness and processing on her face in the orginal really makes her look intent and makes for a compelling portrait. |

This is an interesting concept. I like the orange of the bird with the blue-grey of the chair. I'm not sure how I feel about the texture on the bird. I do like the background texture, but I wondering how it would look without the texture on the bird or with it less prominent. Lucky you to have cardinals in your yard. |

Isn't he cute. Good job spotting him. On my monitor, the squirrel is a little soft. When looking at the original, the sticks in front of him are sharper and I wonder if your autofocused was on the sticks and not the squirrel? |

Well, if I was hiking I'd take a dip! I love the light on the water. YOu mentioned turquoise waters but on my screen the water looks very dark. My only suggestion would be to lighten the water up a bit. Also, my eye is drawn up the falls and out the bright area behind the falls. Maybe darken that a little to keep eye returning to the frame. Beautiful tones in the foliage. |
