Thank you, Walter. I'll look at cropping or adding some canvas to the left. |

Walter, I think the yellow leaf is a good example of why it's nice to have other people looking at your images. There have been several times when I've worked on an image and had someone look at it and they point to the "yellow leaf" that I hadn't even noticed as I'd been so focused on the subject.

I hadn't thought about the space on the left. Interesting observation. Maybe I'll play around with that. Thanks. |

I appreciate your comments, Pauline. I was following the bird while he was flying and he actually landed behind me. I had to twist around to capture him and the boat had some motion. I need more practice with maintaining sharpness in these situations. |

Very well done exposure and composition. You had enough DoF to get the frog and branch in focus but not the background. Effect of letting the background go dark really makes the frog pop. |

Interesting action in this shot. I would like for one of the faces to be looking more toward the camera and to have better focus. Also, a faster shutter speed would improve the sharpness of the fur and prevented some of the overexposure. The background is brighter than the subjects so it competes with the animals. How lucky your were to get to see this. |

Beautiful tones in the leaf and very sharp with good color balance. Unfortunately, the shadow of the juniper branch obscures much of your subject. I would move that branch out of the way so that the bottom third of your subject isn't in shadow. |

Nice focus and DoF to keep entire frog in focus. I wold suggest to the frog that, when getting his portrait done, he choose a different color group of leaves. :). That said, given that the frog apparently doesn't have good color sense, I wold suggest desating the plant. The frog is the subject and beautiful in his own right, but the brightness and lightness of the pinks compete with the frog and draws my eye away. Pretty as he is, he's not as bright as that leaf behind him. I love how you nailed the focus and exposure on his eye and that needs to be where the viewer lingers. |

This is a nice, environmental portrait of the turtle. DoF was spot on with the head and the front foot very sharp. The diagonal composition gives the slow turtle energy and the selective focus on the front arm and head keeps your eye moving between the arm and head. I would suggest taking down the brightness on the yellow leaf. It is close to the same shade of yellow on the turtle and, because it's brighter than the turtle, it competes with it. |
