75 Mar 19 Reply Yes, in bird photography, you just have those that they don't stick their head behind a leaf. I think as long as the leaf is there, you handed it very well. It's not obtrusive and you don't see the leaf before you see the bird. Mar 10th
75 Mar 19 Comment histogram wasn't overexposed but clearly to the right. Mar 9th
75 Mar 19 Comment This is a nice image that really tells a story. I actually like the light in the original image better. I think that it keeps the focus on the subject. I would only have added light to the sheep's head but left the rest darker. The wall in the raw image was visible but isn't the subject so I think it had an appropriate amount of light in the raw capture. Also, the raw image light focuses on the mans muscles which contributes to the story. In my opinion, just increasing the light on the sheep's head so that his facial expression becomes the subject and perhaps brightening the wool on the floor just slightly would make for a more compelling story. Really nice capture. Mar 9th
75 Mar 19 Comment This is an interesting abstract with many different patterns. It looks like the ice formations have created different textures. Unfortunately, I'm not able to see the detail in the patterns or textures as the entire image is blurry. Also, on my monitor, the image if very flat with no true blacks or whites. Mar 9th
75 Mar 19 Comment Cute animal (what is it?) Nice focus on the eye and head, and effective crop. I think you got sharp detail on the entire animal and the color is good. Nice portrait. Mar 9th
75 Mar 19 Comment First off, I just have to say that I'm jealous you get to have cardinals in your backyard! I just don't have them here in the mountains of NorCal (though I do have other beautiful birds). Nice capture with her eye being tack sharp. Also, good DOF choice in that the dark leaf in front of her body is dark and blurred and not too distracting. You did a good job of positioning yourself. Also, nice that your f6/3 keeps her sharp while not blurring out all those potentially distracting branches. Good use of flash. She is appropriately lit but not overdone and nice cropping. In this case, your "bullseye" crop works. Mar 9th
