7 Jul 21 Comment I think both are remarkable images. I agree wih Tom, it is rare to capture a photo like this with the participants looking forward. The emotional and physical aspects of the picture are very strong. I like both but in the end I gravitated to the color image. I think the inclusion of the blurred crowd gives a sense of time, p[lace, and significance to the image. Jul 24th
7 Jul 21 Comment To steal Barbara's description, it is a spectacular image. The inclusion of people accentuates the massive size of the trees. I really like the curve of the footpath and the triangle shaped crevices in the trees. Jul 24th
7 Jul 21 Comment What a great capture. I think the signage and the clown draw your eye from the subject. I am not sure how I would attempt to fix it. Cropping that much feels a bit drastic, and the signage and clown ae part of the story. Perhaps you could blur the non-essential portions. Jul 13th
7 Jul 21 Comment I agree. It is a brilliant image, and the black background is perfect. The level of detail is wonderful and the blurred wings give it a sense of energy. Jul 8th
7 Jul 21 Comment I enjoy silhouettes and this is a very nice one. My only comment is that my eyes do not come to rest any particular place. I say this without any sense of what you can do to correct it, it is not as if you can have the birds do it again. Perhaps there is something you could do to bring the focus the the group of three birds in the center.
Having said that, I should point out that I would be very happy to have taken this picture.

7 Jul 21 Comment A perfect July 4th image! Both the subject and the colors are in lockstep with the holiday spirit. Very nice crisp image, tremendous detail, and great background. Jul 8th
7 Jul 21 Reply That is good information to have, thank you Tom. Jul 6th
7 Jul 21 Reply Hi Bev,
I am trying to implement the change that you suggested and I am running into a problem. I get a repeating pattern in the clouds which is quite visible. I may be selecting to large an area, seventy pixels is the smallest change I have attempted so far. Any suggestions?

7 Jul 21 Reply Hi Hoshedar,
I am stumbling through the process of learning Photoshop myself. This group has been very helpful in that endeavor. I did not replace the sky. I merely selected it and adjusted the brightness. I find that when it comes to skies, you can accomplish quite a bit with brightness and exposure.

71 Jul 21 Comment Great capture. I agree with Mike, some cropping to highlight the eclipse would make the image stronger. I would crop out the building and just leave the end of the pier to provide some perspective. I also agree with John, removing the line in the sky would serve to focus ones attention totally on the eclipse. Jul 8th
71 Jul 21 Comment What a great capture, your timing was exquisite! The open beak and puffed chest make the image special. The red shoulders are extraordinary, I don't believe I have ever seen a bird with them before. The focus and blurred background make the bird pop. Jul 8th
71 Jul 21 Comment I love the sense of size and majesty that the image conveys.I think that the prior suggestions were right on track, and you did a great job implementing them. I think the adjusted image is much stronger after the changes. Jul 8th
71 Jul 21 Comment Wow. What a great image. The composition is terrific. I love the way it leads your eye to the Milky Way, and provides so many visual treats on the way. There is not one thing I would change. Jul 8th
