Wonderful images. I prefer the B&W too, it gives the picture a mystical aloofness. The trees give the foreground a sense of scale, that rock must be enormous. The background reminds me of an impressionist painting, while the foreground reminds me of an Adams photograph. |

Thanks Tom, When I selected it I wasn't sure how to refine the selection, any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Thank you. How would you tone down the blue car, the burn tool? I am still working my way around Photoshop and looking for advice from more experienced eyes. |

Grace, I too am glad that you are OK after what must have been a harrowing experience. The image is remarkable. I find myself first captured by the silky appearance of the wave, it has a wonderful mystical feel. The moon then draws me to the night sky and the Milky Way. Without the moon I find myself staying in the cave. |

Barbara- I am amazed that you shot this with an I-phone. The detail is remarkable. I agree that the diagonal strengthens the image. |

Rich- Great picture. I really like the framing and the muting. I think the combination of cropping and muting eliminated any distractions. I would be afraid that any additional cropping would reduce the impact of the tree branches. |

Wow. You nailed the fog! Being from Boston I really enjoy pictures from along the Atlantic coast, particularly those with fog. I like how you reduced the impact of the round orange cushion and cleaned up the debris in the original. I actually enjoy all three of the images, but your changes make the final stand out. |

Here it is with the purple tint reduced and converted to black and white.
Thank you for the input. |

What a great capture. I like the composition but would explore reducing the amount of sky by 40-50% and bring more attention to the mesa. I think it is perfect as a panorama. |

I enjoy everything about this picture from the foreground. to the road, the terrain of the mountain, and the peak. My eve is carried seamlessly from the flowers in the foreground to the peaks of the mountains. Very, very nice image. |

I too am jealous. My son spent eight years stationed on Whidbey Island and I never saw a wave like that. I really like how you captured it just as the wave was releasing all of its energy. The image really captures the power of the wave and provides a wonderful sense of its strength. I agree that the hillside is a bit overdone. Wonderful picture though. |

I am captivated by the the reflection of the comet in the creek The comet being many millions of miles from us and the creek just a few feet; and the absolute clarity of them both. Wonderful image. |

Great picture. It gives such a great sense of , not just the comet, but time and place (Perhaps a kingdom far, far away.)I like how the houses along the bottom third balance the image with detracting from the main subject. |
