Actually, I do know that. It's sort of a cardinal rule. Obviously I didn't follow it when I took this shot!

Thanks Jody. I'll see if I can add some as the original doesn't have anymore on that side. |

I increased the contrast a little, blurred the background and then flipped it. I'm not a big fan of "flipping" a subject but for some reason I like this better reading left-to-right. Interesting subject. I've never seen one growing. |

Just for everyone to know, the AI simulation was done by Leonid. I only added it to the post for him. |

The lines are an effect to look like brickwork. Not something I would normally use. Just included it here to show variations. |

From Leonid: "During the process of working on this picture, I used AI to help me. It was a lot of levels job but the final image as I was thinking to make a studio portrait."
*** at Leonid's request, I have posted this version that he made, using the original street photo.*** |

I like it better. The bird is moving left-to-right and I feel like the horizontal crop suits that much better. |

Thank you Ellen. I have tried to sharpen it but wasn't successful. I will try again. |

I agree, well done. You replaced the sky, but I would therefore also adjust the color of the water. I just selected the water and then adjusted the blues. I also increased the lighting on the three people very slightly. Congrats to the couple! |

What a great subject! I'd love to know the rest of his story. Now that you have cropped the distracting pole on the left of the image, I wonder if you could add just a little more canvas to the left side? It might be a little difficult because of his hand, but it wouldn't need much. An easier option would be to crop to just above his hand and then add canvas to the left side. I really enjoyed seeing this image. |

Welcome to Group 30! Beautiful bird in flight. I understand that you wanted to capture the bird in its natural habitat and I like that, but I did find a couple of branches distracting. I removed them in PS and then adjusted the contrast and blues very slightly in LR. These are just suggestions for you to consider. |

Level horizon, good pose, detail in the feathers, yellow/blue complementary colors all make this an attractive image. I have one very tiny "nitpick": on the left edge of the frame there is some wave action that draws my attention. All the rest of the horizon line is blue without any interruption. I would remove it. As I said very very very tiny issue. Easy fix. |

I think you captured the horse display quite well. I do agree about removing a couple of small distractions to include: the red stoplight, the "30" sign, and to darken or remove the no turn sign. Also, there are two windows that are lighted on the right side. I think I would darken them so they match the other windows. These are all relatively minor changes. |

Thank you for the suggestion Leonid. I will work on that. |
