The left side seems to detract from the more public side of the pier. Also, for such a "happy place", I feel that the sky is a little dark and gloomy. I cropped from the left up to the blue building, to keep space between the edge of the frame and the wheel. Second, I increased the exposure, hilites and whites in LR. I would like to see them a little brighter still, but that was the best I could do on my end. See what you think. |

Your foreground subject adds interest to the image although I would clone out the row of poles. I agree with what Walter is suggesting. Next time focus on infinity as I'm assuming your primary subject is the Milky Way. |

I tried some different ways to add a little more "pop" to this image, but finally have to agree with the others. I like it better as a bw. I used bw09 in LR. See what you think. |

I think your composition works well. The rocky background works well with her "tougher" look. I might suggest cloning out the rocks that merge with her head (inside the circle of her arms). |

I had a feeling my suggestions were not within your original concept. Thank you for your further explanation. |

It does take patience to get the "right wave" breaking over the rocks. You didn't share your settings, but the jetty rocks do not look in focus to me? Perhaps one of your other shots has them in better focus?

Walter, I am enjoying your creative architectural images. I like the idea of placing this on a black canvas and working with the tones and shades. For me, it is a little dark (gloomy?). I masked the central panel and decreased the shadows. Not sure if this is still in keeping with your original concept? I also rotated it to the left just a "hair" as it felt tilted to the right. |
