I think Bill was referring to the original image. I was actually handholding, so bracketing would have been difficult. |

I'm glad you chose this image to share with us. I stand by my suggestions, but they are only suggestions. I think your image is going to remind us to look outside the box and see what is there. |

Thanks for including your original image. I'm glad you saw the potential for this interesting scene. I agree with Judy. The scene is busy. I agree about removing the dock on the right, the stairs on the left, possibly even remove all the foreground docks entirely. As a viewer, they are blocking my way "into" the boat. I would also recommend removing 1/2 or slightly less of the sky. The buildings belong in the scene I think. It seems to me that there is no visual separation between the boat and the shore. The color and painterly strokes are so strong they overwhelm the boat. Keep working this image. |

I'm going to address the composition here, as I'm not qualified to talk about polarization (although I value the discussion about how to correctly polarize). I agree with Judy, that there are probably two images here. One using only upper right corner of the image; the second could be a vertical, right half of the image only. Regardless, I think you image is not level. The water appears to be tilted upwards to the right. Given all of that, it appears to be an absolutely beautiful place to spend time. Thank you for sharing it.

Interesting set up. I appreciate you explaining to us what your goal was and the steps you took. I, too, wish it were sharper, not just in the middle, but over all. I think that needs to happen in order to keep the viewer's attention. Can you do this again, this time working towards a sharper image?

Once again you have found an interesting subject in people at work. I like this one very much, but as Robert suggested, I would like to know why the difference in reflection? Does it have something to do with the coating they are applying? I'm not exactly clear what they are doing with such small bottles of whatever they are applying?

Well done. Especially for a quick "snap". The lighting on the flower and stem is perfect, as is the blurred background. My initial response was to crop some of the stem. Having thought more about it, I like it as is. The current crop suits your title of serenity as I see this blossom standing alone, proud and in peace. |
