Marilyn, Just a quick observation. You have definitely created an amazing image here. I appreciate you including your original. I actually prefer the current border. Did you take the image while the flowers were in the window? Just curious.
Thanks!

Leonid, I would be interested to know what steps you took to sharpen the bird in this image. Thanks .

I may need to clarify. I meant to leave the stone wall in, but to crop to the right of it. |

Judy, thanks for putting the work into demonstrate your suggestions. For me, your version while with merit, completely changes the "story" I was trying to tell of the old locomotive in the barn. |

Great job of assembling several images together to create this stunning image! I think it stands alone as it is, but a tiny boat in the left lower half would be good as well.

I had a good chuckle when I first saw this! I have a couple of recommendations. Crop the right side up to the stone wall. Adjust the lighting. As is it is a little flat. Very funny photo!

Jody, you did a great job of capturing this sparrow in it's habitat, doing what "predators" do! The lack of blue in the water does not bother me at all. The only small issue I have is that I wish the tail was not cut off. But, since the top of the stick was also cut off, it works ok. Great image.

This plant is new to me as well. I have to agree that the reds seem overly saturated. It might help if you removed some of the spectral hilights on the flower buds. I would start there. I'm not sure I know what you mean by "it was sent on SCN with a picture of a runner"?

This is a great image of the bird in its habitat. I especially like the lighting. I agree with removing at least a couple of twigs. I'm not sure I like the vignette in either version. It makes me feel as if I'm having tunnel vision. I would reduce the original vignette until it darkens but in a way we are not aware.

Thanks Jody! My husband, Bob, always runs a tone map on his images. I need to get in the habit of doing so as well.

Thank you for your comments. Using a wide angle, there may be some distortion that I need to adjust. Personally I prefer the tools on the right because I believe they reinforce the sense of location. I would be interested in what others say about it.

Robert, I like your project idea very much. I think you did well with your "shoot through" perspective. It was easy for my eye to identify the subject leaf/ bud. The colors are lovely and the soft lighting works effectively.
