Belinda, I am just visiting your group and had to comment on your stunning image! I enjoy trying this sort of thing with some of my images as well, but yours is by far the best I have seen! Thanks for sharing it!

In my version, the blue was altered as I adjusted the white balance. But it can be reversed and using the LR mask, or other mask, just the birds could be lightened if preferred.

Beautiful position of the egret with wings spread, and including its environment. I would remove the blurred post(?) that sticks above the greenery on the left side of the image. I would also remove 1/3 of the bottom of the image as it feels to heavy to me. |

Thank you Jessica. You expressed my intentions much better than I did. |

Just for the record, Jessica, I also have been chased by geese! I now give them a wide berth! I agree with the previous comments. I cropped just a hair all the way around as there are a couple of distractions, top and right. Next I adjusted the white balance in LR. LR has some new features including the ability now to selectively mask. I used it on the geese and step by step with small adjustments, tried to lighten the geese a little. .... but, now I just reread your description and how you liked the geese in shadow, so perhaps lightening them would not be to your liking?? |

I do like what Leonid has done with the image. Certainly another option.

Judy, I didn't mean to suggest it was the same portrait, I just thought taken at the same time. I was wrong.

I do enjoy the bw more than the color. Although, without the color there is no sunset, so I would rename the bw version as just "storm" or similar. I tried to reduce some of the noise and introduce more contrast in the clouds. Not a big change, but I think increases the feel of "storm". |

I think we have seen a portrait of this gentleman before? This is a great portrait. It is as if he is unaware he is being observed, which I like. I wonder what he is thinking? While I enjoy the treatment and color tones, I would like his face to be sharper, at least around the eyes, nose, mouth.

I agree with Jody, that the mountain would look well if a little brighter, especially along the shore. I might also suggest cropping some off the left. I think it gives the image better balance that way. What do you think? |

Beautiful scene. As your title describes, this is a yellow field that happens to have a butterfly. Another option would be to crop closely so that you have butterfly featured in a yellow backdrop. I think either version works quite well. The only suggestion might be to darken or destaturate the blurred yellow background a little. |

Hello, I'm just visiting from group 30. This is a unique image and well done. Might I suggest adding a tiny bit of canvas on the right and on the top? Very easy to do in PS especially since it has a solid background on those sides.

This image is more about the feelings it evokes, rather than a record of the scene. I think you did very well with the bw treatment. The blurred leaves and the swirling clouds definitely create a unique mood here. Well done and appropriate to the season. |
