I agree with the others. The background is brighter than the subject. Your composition is good. I like the fact you caught him with one foot in the air as he takes a step.

My visit to a local sunflower farm this year was a little disappointing, so I'm happy to see your image. It is very well done. I like the processing you used. You mentioned the sky. I think you could successfully crop a little more. Also, I used a radial filter to increase the brightness of the inside of the sunflower. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing this lovely image.

I'll try to tone it down.

Very nice. I like the composition and lighting very much. Excellent choice of subject. My only thought is if you could bring more attention to the smaller central leaves through the use of light and/or contrast.

Interesting application of the color gels. I tried cropping and straightening to put more emphasis on the subject. Then, used curves in LR to adjust the colors. See what you think. |

One of the things I like about sharing images is we also learn (I hope) to appreciate different styles. Robert prefers reality, Leonid prefers displaying an emotional feeling and alters his image. I think I might suggest playing with the crop, if you haven't already. Also, I'm wondering if you could lighten the color of the boat hull slightly. Otherwise, very nice. |
