Sounds like a wonderful museum to explore. Love the story about your grandson.

Nice placement of the leaf in the image. Since your subject is "new growth", I'd like to see more detail in the leaf and less in the tree trunk. |

I did a little more clean up. I tried flipping it as Mark Southard suggested but did not like it. Here it is with some clean up... removing some stumps and other stuff around the edges. |

Leonid, this is a lovely image and I think I would enjoy it with or without the rain. I think it all depends on your intention for this image. Do you want to add rain, but make it still realistic? Then I think I would back off on the rain somewhat. Do you want to add rain to create an artistic impression of this scene? Then I think you have succeeded.
It is interesting what we learn as we review these images. I did not know about bees and rain and I found Robert's scientific explanation interesting as well. |

You should sell this to the people in those two houses!
Very nicely done. The gold on the houses is almost too gold for my taste, but I know you want to tell the story of "gold". As for the second rainbow, I don't see it as important to the story but you might want to play with it, I personally think I would leave it as is.

Judy has provided some options which are good. But, I like the original with one exception. I would make it a square crop by removing about 1/2 from the top. Very nice image. What did we do without our cell phones????

One never knows from where they will get their latest inspiration! I am not sure I really like the end product (I hope you don't mind my being honest), but I greatly applaud your venturing into an area that I understand is very outside your comfort zone. I do like the images you displayed on your webpage. This is a good opportunity to remind everyone though, when competing in photographic compositions, the image must start in camera. Keep experimenting. I'd love to see what you and others come up with. |

Responding to Robert and Leonids' suggestions. I cropped and adjusted the vignette. As I was shooting the original from the side of the road I could not get down to the scene, but could have moved to the left and placed more emphasis on the stream as suggested. |
