Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
29 Mar 19 Reply I agree with you that my image is over saturated. A colorimeter monitor calibration is a must for serious photography. I was in a rush to get my comments posted before surgery, and didn't properly reduce the opacity of my effect. Good catch. Surgery went well. Mar 16th

30 Mar 19 Comment Thanks Jessica. I'm hoping to go again. It was an interesting place to visit. Mar 21st
30 Mar 19 Comment Thank you all for your comments on this image. They are all helpful. I think this is one of those images that falls into the category that "I" (aka: the photographer) like, but does not have general appeal for several of the reasons you have listed. I won't put this one on the wall, but will keep it in my files as a reminder of my visit there. Mar 16th
30 Mar 19 Comment I look forward to next month's experiment from you. One thing we need to remember is that while sometimes we enjoy sharing what we think are our best images with the group, we probably learn more from our experiments. I think it inspires others to try something different as well.

30 Mar 19 Comment First, thank you for including the original. I think it often helps us to see the starting point. I do like Judy's crop better. In this image, I think if you are going to touch the edge of the image with three sides of the rose, the fourth side should touch or nearly touch as well. I enjoy experimenting with Topaz as well, but am not sure I like that particular filter on this image. Having said that I feel like I can almost smell this rose! After all this cold weather here lately, I can hardly wait to smell them for real! Mar 14th
30 Mar 19 Comment We have a lot of outstanding bird photographers in our local group and so I have the opportunity to see many bird photographs. One of the things that makes a good quality image is if the bird(s) are in a natural interaction. That is the case here with your image. Well done with that! I do agree that the colors are not as good as they could be. Robert thinks the green is too strong, for me it is the blue of the sky. I wonder if you could desaturate the colors a little. For me, the sky color overwhelms the subjects. Mar 14th
30 Mar 19 Comment I enjoy experimenting with this sort of subject. I agree with the others, perhaps adding a slight more canvas to the right and removing the two holes on the left would be helpful. It seems like the background detail is more in focus than the green pipe. Mar 14th
30 Mar 19 Reply Yes I like it much better. Anxious to see your next image. Mar 6th
30 Mar 19 Comment I agree. Sometimes it is fun to experiment and present something different. That is one way that we grow and learn. I agree with both Judy and Robert about the background wall and about the birds themselves. Thank you for sharing this. Mar 5th
30 Mar 19 Comment This is an interesting experiment. Thank you for explaining how you did it. I think it works well with the tree, but personally I do not care for the gold tones in the grasses. This is quite a stretch for you!

30 Mar 19 Comment Usually we prefer animals facing us rather than facing away, but this one works. The eye is bright, the pose is great, his tail is in a great position. I even like the way his right front paw is slightly raised. Exposure is great ....very nicely done. Mar 5th
30 Mar 19 Reply I should have explained, the foggy area on the greenery is water spray from the misters to water the plants. I did try to remove/ tone down as much of it as I could without making it look unnatural.
