29 Jan 19 Reply I think your crop has made me look at the image with a new perspective. Now I see how very cluttered the image is, and not worth trying to save. I need to return to simplifying my landscapes. Thanks for trying to salvage a poor image. Jan 19th
29 Jan 19 Comment Karen, thanks for making my day by giving me a good chuckle! This guy reminds me of an "encounter" we had with wild burros in Custer State Park, SD. Your auto settings did their job. Focus, exposure, detail, all good. I like your crop as well. I want to reach out and pet him! :-) Jan 3rd

30 Jan 19 Reply I originally said I preferred the sunspots to be removed. I have changed my mind and now agree they belong in the image. Thanks for sharing the original. I prefer the bird heading towards the spots, as in your final image.

30 Jan 19 Reply Thank you Tom. I am happy to see this much dialogue whether my image or another group member. That is what this exercise is all about. Jan 20th
30 Jan 19 Reply What do you think of this? Is it what you had in mind? Jan 12th
30 Jan 19 Comment You obviously put a lot of thought and effort into this image, with good results. Because it is often a problem in my photography, I was trying to straighten your image, but then re-read your explanation. The colors are great and it is a very appealing image. I'd consider this a success! Jan 9th
30 Jan 19 Comment Very nicely done. Good job with your crop, color and I like the fact you have water droplets on the flower. Jan 9th
30 Jan 19 Comment This sounds like an interesting place to visit. I think you made a good decision to make this a mono image rather than color. It does feel flat to me with no real visual distinction between the subject wagon and the bridge and remeaining background. Also, I prefer to have more of the bridge removed as in my example. Jan 9th
30 Jan 19 Comment I would suggest getting rid of the hilite on the Reeses that is front and center. The others don't bother me that much. It is sharp, the colors are true. Jan 9th
30 Jan 19 Comment I agree the silhouette could be sharper, but I think you caught the subject in a perfect pose. I agree that the white reflections need to be removed as distracting, but I actually prefer to have the black grasses included. Here is my suggestion for a crop. Over all a very nice image. Jan 9th
30 Jan 19 Reply I see what you have done and like the difference. Thank you for the suggestion. Jan 3rd
30 Jan 19 Reply Thank you Robert. You are probably right about the tree branches. I should have taken a step or two to the left. Maybe if I burned the rock ever so slightly, it would look better? Give the foreground a more solid "base". This was just sort of an experiment and over all I liked the look. Probably won't appeal to too many people. ***by the way: does everyone know that if you click the smaller images, they will appear full size???*** Jan 2nd

37 Jan 19 Comment Visiting from Group 30. Beautiful child and lovely image. The eyes are beautifully sharp. My only suggestion, if you have it, is to add a tiny bit to the bottom edge. It would look better if you plan to print and frame this as it is currently in my opinion, too close to her chin. Jan 9th

40 Jan 19 Comment Hi Alison,

First I want to applaud you for finding a different "story" to tell with your camera, since you were using a wide angle. Very creative I think. I agree with Henry that moving closer and changing your angle of view a little to better emphasize the stucco house would have been helpful. I tried to slightly hilite the house and the pedestrian using a radial blur tool in Lightroom, although there are many ways to do that. Light draws our attention, so lightening your subject area may be helpful. I also cropped off the right to eliminate the car and some of the foliage.
