Robert, thanks for sharing the link. Shooting from a low angle does help, and I've been told this before. But, for people like myself who can get down, but cannot get back up gracefully, not always an option! :-( |

I know absolutely nothing about Lacrosse so found this interesting. We cannot always choose our backgrounds but I agree, a little more blur and maybe tone down the white tent. |

Yes. the vase probably wasn't the best choice but I was just fiddling around that day. Thank you for the comment. |

I find a disconnect between the modern abstract art and the historic background. I wonder if you could decrease the light on the background or vignette it in such a way that the viewer can better enjoy the art? Of course, the other issue is are you just photographing someone's art? |

The cherry blossoms are about done here as well, which is a shame because they are so beautiful after a cold gray winter. I like your idea of looking through the blossoms at the lantern. I think your choice regarding dof is a good one although the blurred blossoms at the top do bother me a little. I think over all I prefer a tighter crop. I think the background color (wall??) enhances the image. |

I like this abstract view as well. I agree it could use a little more contrast. On my computer, Robert's shows some artifacts but I think he has the right idea. |

I love finding this sort of subject and trying to work it different ways. I think you did well to try some different post processing techniques. However, for me, the composition just isn't working. |

Very nice image, Tom. The bird is well placed within the image. The fast shutter speed has caught the action. I like the golden light (you said it was late in the day.) I am wondering if when you cleaned up the noise, if it also reduced the detail in the bird's feathers? We have a lot of excellent bird photographers in our local group. Takes a lot of patience. More than I have! Well done. |

Robert, I tried what you suggested. Is this what you mean? I increased midtones in LR and increased clarity. I think you are right, I grabbed the wrong color image, but similar. I do prefer the bw myself. |
