Judy, it is hard to say, but it might be Sand verbena. |

For me, and perhaps only me, it is in this case. The flowers do not appear to be touching the background, as if lying on a table, so for me, the flowers appear to be floating with no anchor. |

After removing the airplane wing, how about cropping out about 2/3 of the sky. No one would now it is a lake (of clouds) in the sky!

I like your stem position better than the original (I just now noticed that the original stem is "floating"). While I agree there are issues with the original background, I prefer the lights and shadows on the background as opposed to a flat gray background. |

I agree with the previous comments. Great job on this. I haven't a clue how to do it!

Amazing view. Glad you were able to capture it. You need the wing to give a sense of location, but I would suggest cropping a small amount off the top and an equally small amount from the bottom to bring us in closer to the beautiful sunlit clouds. |

I don't know what this is, but the rust on it was quite nice. Do you have other images of this? I like the curved metal piece on the right hand side. It would be interesting to play with different views of this object. One thing I would suggest with the current crop would be to increase the blacks (used the black slider in LR) and add a dark vignette as well. Just a suggestion. |

We don't have these here in the PNW. I wish we did, it looks beautiful! The leaves look great and are nice and sharp.
On the other hand, I feel like the flowers have lost something in the focus stacking process? Part of that could be the reds. I always find red flowers difficult to photograph. |

Dale, I think you did very well with this experiment. Actually, I was going to suggest a different crop. Your original has too much of the dark orange for my taste. It draws my attention away from the droplet. I would suggest using your original, crop from the right, leaving a little of the dark color, just not the entire thing. |

Thanks Judy. I should have mentioned I treated this as a pj image. That would mean I could not clone out the man in the background. I hoped that by darkening that corner, it would help. I was also worried that if I cloned him out, that it would put the boy too close to the edge? Looking at it again, I see that might not be a problem. Finally, when I took the photo I was in fact literally focused on the girls, the boy was a bonus. Again, I see now, that he probably is the story. |
