Kerstin, I saw your image and just had to thank you for the good laugh! I don't have any real comment to make, but you really made my day! Thank you.

Jon, it was helpful to read your explanation here. Now I better understand what you were trying to accomplish. In that regard, I tried a different crop. For me this changes the story from a view of the unique landscape, to a story regarding the death of the trees and the creation of an amazingly unique landscape. My version is an attempt on my part to show that story. It may not work for you. |

Leonid, a beautiful image. Not much I can add to what the others have suggested. |

I shot this at f5.6, 1/15th sec., ISO 100. I used my 18-200 at about 30mm which in hindsight was probably not a good lens for this. Focus stacking is one of those many things I need to learn. |

Beautiful scene. I agree, has a very slight tilt to the left which is easy to correct. I like it. |

What a sweetheart! Very nice capture. I, too, love my 50mm (crop sensor) lens for this sort of shot. My only suggestion would be to check your white balance as it might be off a little ... or maybe it is my monitor. Also, a trivial thing, I would tone down the baby's left ear a little. |

Lovely image. I very much like how the curve of the hills, etc. in the foreground, mimics the curve of the milky way above. Perhaps some of that is from the fisheye effect you mentioned, but I like it in this case. The lights across the lake also give us something to look at. We have several members in our local club who are quite good at these star shots. This is one of the better ones I have seen. I do agree you need to remove the light streak from the plane in the sky. |

I remember how fascinating these formations are, from our trip to Yellowstone during the PSA Conference there. I agree the trees are somewhat problematic but my solution is to crop from the left, leaving the trees along the left side of the image. Secondly, I suggest readjusting the white balance. See my example. |

Jessica, I think you needed more lens or to be closer to your subject, the field house. It appears that there is a small footbridge at the midpoint of the image, not sure if you could approach that and include it in your foreground, or else shoot from that point? For me the brush and piece of wood are not adding anything to the image. Given all of that, I love the light on the house and the golden grass, with trees behind. It does appear you had a good sky with clouds and yes, I would like to see more contrast there so we can better see the clouds. I'm including a crop just as a suggested composition, it's quite pixelated because of the size, but you can get the idea. |
