40 Nov 21 Comment Hi Henry,
How fun! I enjoy the range of color and the focus on the pumpkin.
What bothered me was the statue itself. I stared at it for a long time before I realized that the male figure doesn't have his head on backwards, there are actually three figures, which I could only discern when I counted the feet. I'm wondering if another angle, (if you had stood a bit more to the right, and perhaps lowered the tripod) would have been better. The issue is with the statue - this sculptor doesn't have Rodin's ability to have wreathing figures in a logical negative space. But it is whimsical and fun and the pumpkin treatment adds to that, and the bright green of the garden behind it adds to the feeling of joy.

40 Nov 21 Comment Hi Julie!
Yes, waterfalls are a challenge! Yours is well composed. I did like Julie's flip because then our eye easily travels left to right, which we English speakers are used to.
What's strong about this image is the variety of textures. But it was a bit soft (not enough contrast) so the leaves on the trees seemed a bit blurry. I played with it in p hotoshop. First I opened the camera raw filter in B&W and amped up the green colors. Then I played with contrast, clarity, dehaze. See what you think.

40 Nov 21 Comment Very romantic and evocative. I assume they have just married each other.
It bothered me that they were centered. I like the fog around them but I didn't like that they were fogged over. I played with it. I'm not sure B&W is the way to go on this one because it's so soft, but see what you think:

40 Nov 21 Comment My first reworked version which started to look more like something from a comic book - I was still trying to make the bits of sky blue Nov 13th
40 Nov 21 Comment I love this image! Well seen!
I played with it a little bit. Straightened the edge, and tried to deal with the sky issue by using whites, highlights, and other sliders in Camera Raw filter in PS.
For me the story is about the volumes and negative space glimpsed between the V of the girder. So I didn't feel the sky had to be blue, just not distracting. I also did some clone work on one side and darkened one piece that was too white on the lower left.

40 Nov 21 Comment Down the block from my house someone has put a little door at the bottom of a tree, with a little tiny mailbox and a little tiny white picket fence and other little things. You see these around New Hampshire, they are called fairy gardens. It seems to me that more of them have appeared since lockdown. You take your young child for a walk and they can pause and delight in it.
Anyway, your image reminds me of a fairy garden. The food is very whimsical. You have come up with a good contrast in texture and color.
As you can see from the other two responses, people react to this iage! I think you have tapped into something, keep taking pictures like these! I would love to see what else you come up with!

40 Nov 21 Comment Hi Andrew,
The sky replacement worked perfectly. Another tool for your toolbox!
The shot of the airplane is amazing in terms of texture and clarity.
What bothers me is that it is facing away from us. It seems to me that the rules of thumb for shooting birds apply to airplanes too, especially the one about "seeing the glint in its "eye."
A little bit wider frame and/or more of a diagonal shot would also help tell the story. Do you have other angles?
