80 Mar 20 Reply Thanks Beverly. That is a good suggestion. It was at midday so a lot of shadow. Mar 18th
80 Mar 20 Reply Bill, I tried that and didn't particularly like it (can't tell you exactly why)
so left it in. Personal preference.

80 Mar 20 Comment Your image does have leading lines but they do not lead my eye to anything. Perhaps if the woman walking halfway down were in the clearing in the center, or the woman there were wearing red or a bright color but you can't stage it like that unfortunately. As it is I find my eye drawn to the red object on the right of the boardwalk. I like Victor's version better eliminating the foreground. And as I said to J. Lanning Smith, I personally am not a fan of Topaz filters as I feel they are too over the top. My opinion only and again, it is what matters to you that is important. Mar 10th
80 Mar 20 Comment I really like this image. People to my mind are SO interesting and each has their own story to tell. I like the depth of field, making him completely sharp while the background is a bit blurry. Great shot!! Mar 10th
80 Mar 20 Comment I love street artists. And you have captured this one well. I do like the minor adjustments that Ed made, brightening up the picture etc. I wish his face were a little more visible but that is a minor nit. Great shot. Mar 10th
80 Mar 20 Comment This photo really fits the theme of Urban Life well, but am not myself a fan of a lot of the post processing effects of Topaz as I prefer a more realistic look (my opinion only). I do think the effects are a bit overdone, and would maybe benefit from decreasing the opacity of the effects. I would also be very leery of entering it into competition as most judges I have had experience with do not care for "artistic" changes to the photos and tend to score low. But at the end of the day, it is what YOU like and not the judges or anyone else that matters. Mar 10th
80 Mar 20 Comment This is an interesting image. I too couldn't figure out the wreath until I read your description, but now that I understand why and how it's there, it tells a great story. One wonders who they are, and what use their photo will be put to. I do like the black and white better. Mar 10th
80 Mar 20 Comment I like this image a lot. To me the story is the reaction of the vendor to the customer and the middle row of shellfish leads directly to him. I love the bright colors myself, and appreciate the sharpness of the image. I do agree with Ed's comment tho that lightening up the face of the vendor and a slight vignette would improve the photo. 80 Mar 20 Reply Unfortunately I had to take the photo as is. I couldn't very well tell the man to turn around and smile or I couldn't have caught it without a pose. And the men's faces are red because they have been working in the cold air (it was sunny but 30 degrees) unloading seafood from the boats. Mar 7th
