I like the way you have captured the mood of the weather. The haziness of the fogged lens really gives you a feel for the bleakness of the scene. |

Beverly, The arch is beautiful, but I think the story of the street photography is with the women at the table. I would like to see them as the focus of the picture and a lot sharper. |

Colin, I think if you would crop about a third off the left and crop the top to the black you would have a stronger story. The white on the top right draws my eyes there, and the the boy on the left actually isn't part of the story. The boy in the middle, looking at the fallen boy makes the story in my opinion. I like the shadows and the black and white. |

I like this image. I don't read him as angry at all. I read him as somber thinking about and mourning all those who served with him in that god awful war and didn't return. The Viet Nam vets were never thanked for their service and returned home to deal with their demons and injuries as best they could. I think his face tells this story and it is very moving. The foreground could be sharper, but it is not necessary. |

I like the image in black and white for sure. But I too find my eye primarily going to the building in the background. Perhaps cropping a bit off the right and some off the top would make the lovers more the most prominent subject. Or maybe if you had stepped a couple of steps to the right to take the image. I kind of like Beverly's crop but would not make the lovers as large. Nice sharp image and I do like the story of the lovers. |

Bill, I love this image. The expression on the woman's face is priceless. She looks to me as if she is going to say, "You gotta be kidding me!" or some such. Perhaps the man with his back to the camera is putting her on, trying to get that reaction. Great story. One can read a lot into this picture. |

I see where it might be hard to see the small figures next to the painting, and I have no idea what the painting represents except it is something whimsical. The story of the photo is not with the couple or even the painting, but with the size difference. I would not crop it as I think it takes something away from the story. Just my opinion. :-) |
