You have done well Brenda, it was just the back of the neck that bothered me but it may have been my computer. Good on you Geoff. |

Pierre thanks for the comment and interest, yes it was taken through the helicopter canopy. I did want the pilot to remove the door but we had a little too far to travel and he needed the door closed to get the speed needed to get there. Yes they do shake a little. I did not rate the pic as a great one but sometimes just what you are looking at is enough. |

Thanks for your kind thoughts Brenda, there were no roads in the pic, what you are looking at is a dry river bed. I hired a helicopter for the day, the only way to see this area. You must come over and see it for yourself, it is a rather remote part of the world. You don't often see signs like the one on the road that I have included. Stray Animals next 270km, there are no fences. Same distance as you would go from Miami to Palm Bay. Only a couple of small settlements along the way though. |

Well done Brenda, well cropped, nicely in focus and a great pose. Looks like you are progressing well towards some qualification in nature. The only comment that I can make to improve the shot is I would reduce the exposure a little when taking such shots so that the whites are not burnt out. You can always correct in lightroom or photoshop to brighten parts of the pic but there is nothing you can do to solve burnt out parts. White birds are a real problem. I am referring to the neck of the bird. In Aus I shote at 1/2000sec f8 ISO 200 for white birds. |

I like the idea Jacob, my wife is into photographing every flower in site. I am a little concerned about certain parts of the pic being blown out. There is a setting in your i phone that lets you cut back the exposure a little, that would solve this problem. I agree with cropping to focus a little more on the flowers. |

Candy you have done it again, I like the lighting, the way that you have processed the image, and the action of the bird. Good on you. |

Great image Pierre, cute little fella, I would probably remove the bits of grass at the top left and darken the foreground so that the out of focus bit does not stand out quite so much. The chick is beautifully sharp and lighting is perfect. I agree with Brenda, it would be great if the chick could be separated from mums leg. |

Yes, good to have a break from the birds, nice sunset, lighting is good, reflection in the sea make the pic, I would possibly crop a little around the pic to focus a little more on the great sprays of light coming from the sun. If you were to do that it would mean that it would be desirable to take a little of light out of the sun. Well done. |

Well done Mervyn, I don't think I can find anything to comment on that would improve the shot, well positioned, sharp, the bird is doing something namely eating its young, lighting ie perfect. |
