Thanks Dean, did not mean to turn this site into an education site but we seem to be reducing our animals as time marches on and being an island we do have some unique animals. |

Good on you Jacob, I guess you used photo room to get the black background. I have just got the i phone 12 and down loaded a few such aps great fun. I only use my camera for distant birds. Sorry I am rambling, like your treatment of the pic. Great how the i phone gives you such a depth of field. I do like the little extra room around the shot. I guess you achieved this snap seed well done. |

I can see this on a wall Candy, like the lighting and the texture on the neck of the bird. I would love to have seen the whole bird without so much of the bush but I know that that is not always possible and I would not have missed the shot you captured waiting for such an opportunity. I have enjoyed the pic. |

What a cute little fella, could have him as a pet with out any problems. Good capture, I would have tried to zone in on the fox as that is the main attraction leaving out some of the rocks. Well exposed and like the lighting. |

Great that the birds are interacting by facing one and other. Well captured in the environment with the grass all around. I would have possible cropped a little of the top and bottom to remove some of the grass to focus a little more on the birds. |

Great to see the highlight in the eye Mervyn, and to see the bird with its chick. I love the clear blue sky it lets the birds stand out clearly. Good lighting taken from an appropriate angle. I may have cropped a little of the bottom but not too much, I would want to make the nest clear. |

Hi Brenda the yellow footed rock wallaby is listed as vulnerable in some parts of Australia and endangered in other parts. This is due to people wanting the yellow banded tail, clearing of land for farming, foxes, goats and other feral animals. you may be confusing it with the common wallaby. I did not use a tripod, I had to climb up a granite boulder to get the shot, but I was able to sit and wedge the camera between my legs to keep it perfectly still. I was lucky to get the shot but I did take a few. The little creature seemed curious about me and fortunately did not move. The joe was in mums pouch. Below is a clip regarding the Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby.

In New South Wales, there are only two colonies left of this wallaby species and they are 10km away from each other. This type of wallaby faces a serious threat of extinction. The yellow-footed rock wallaby lives in semi-arid areas. They live in rocky outcrops and ranges. |

Great shot Brenda good to see the bird cleaning its feathers, that always adds to the pic. Background nicely out of focus letting the bird stand out clearly, good sharp shot. You seem to do better with your 1.4X than I do. |
