Thanks Mervyn, thats what I was trying to do. I am rapt in the US having travelled there on several occasions and have always been impressed with how we have always found you people so friendly. We have also had a cousin in Boston. I was trying to give you folks a taste of Aust. Yes taking pictures from an aircraft window are never going to be perfect, but as your vice president of the APS Roy Killen informed me it is not just the pic but what (story) is being communicated. I must learn how to improve the quality of my pic i send as at 150gbs on my screen they usually come up fairly sharp. |

I just had another thought, Where in the world can you fill your aircraft up with petrol alongside the cars at a service station. Louise and I have done this in the past at William Creek not far from the Painted Hills. |

Thanks for the constructive comments you folks, you are spot on. Taking pictures through aircraft windows is not the best but sometimes there is no other option. I have enclosed a commercial pic to show you that the colors are as real as I can get them. I did lighten the pic a little and increase the contrast to compensate for the time I took the photo. 7pm in the evening. Brenda I used a Nikon D800. Don't expect too much green in the Aust outback, they don't get rain very often, in fact they can go several years without any. To give you an idea of our outback colors Louise and I took a sample of soil from the Red Centre and when back home compared it with paprika from our pantry, the soil was more red that the paprika. |

Great colors, and a very nice setting. I agree with Pierre and maybe would have tried to increase the depth of field, but given lighting conditions that is not easy. Great Brenda. |

Donna you keep surprising me with where you find your birds. Great shot and as usually razor sharp. I like the grasses in the background, makes for a good setting. The coloring is a little special. |

Great clarity Candy, all the detail is in the bird and the colors stand out beautifully against the dark background. Sorry that I have no suggestions as to how to improve the pic, it is great. |

Some tree Pierre, I am not sure who the face looks like but it sure is interesting. I agree that it may have been improved by a little darkening of the sky or maybe a little vignetting but you were obviously aware of the problem thats why you bracketed the shot. Does it still produce olives? |

I like the birds that you get to photograph, great colors. the only constructive comment that I can make is that maybe the shutter speed could have been increased to sharpen the picture but maybe just sharpening the pic a little. |
