Thanks Candy I value your comment. the halos effect is because I tried to lighten the tree to make it stand out a little more. Obviously I did not lighten it too well. I will have another attempt at it. |

Donna, I forgot to mention that I think the background is perfect for your pic and really sets the mood. |

Pierre as I said I could not find the original but I did take the pic earlier in the day. I did however use a polariser hence the lack of reflections in the rock and the darker sky. Sorry about a little vignetting. |

I love to see the eyes stand out so much and sharp. I am curious as to what your actual focal length was as I find it hard to get the beak and the eyes in focus at 300mm at f6.4, good on you Candy. |

Colours are soft and show this bird off to its best. I always love a sharp picture and you have sure captured just that in this picture from its head to its claws. I agree it is nice that there are no twigs in front of the bird. The Twigs in the background with a little bit of snow makes for a great setting. |

Picture has a lot of atmosphere, choice of black and white suits the picture, I agree with Donna's comments. |

Great depth of focus, Colours at dusk are great. I possibly would have got rid on the boat and included a little more of the for ground. Where was the shot taken Brenda? |

You certainly know how to capture birds Donna. Looking at the weather I bet you were glade to be in the warmth of your car while you waited for the right moment. Only thing that I may have done was to get rid of the twig. |

Love the clarity Mervyn, I know just how hard it is to get such a shot and to get it all in focus and. I have one very similar, and mine also is clasping a stick. It helps to have the detail in the eye and the little bit of light in the eye to give it the depth, I am impressed. |
