Thanks Fred. I think I need to adjust the red in the original first, then remove the window then composite the images and see how that works. |

Thank you, Shirley. Removing the window from O-2 was a struggle, so maybe someone could add a suggestion about that. A blend-if might have worked better, but I'm just learning that technique, and I should have put Topaz GRUNGE filter in caps. Back to the drawing board unless someone offers a suggestion. I won't use THAT filter again! |

I'm not one of the more experienced, but I find creativity and story to be wonderful. A gradient added might put the colors into harmony. The critter is more of a high key than the book pages. I added a gradient map adjustment layer and protected the darks in blend-if. |

Nothing to compare to your creative adjustments, so I can't. |

A Happy Valentines Day gift is always appreciated. I guess I should do better! Really nice story and composite. |

Thank you, Angela. I will consider toning it down a bit. |

I think the reflection of the nearest bridge light on the far right is just bright enough to have caught my eye and made me see the bush. I only saw it because I was on about my fourth trip around the near perfect image.
In re to Dan's comment. I might consider adding more sky, allowing the city lights to glow higher and a more subtle vignette on top.
Except from a boat, I could never capture a cityscape as beautiful as this. |

Thanks, again. I needed to dodge less. |

Thank you, Cheryl. Being able to wait for perfect light is always hit and miss when with a tour group. You must shoot anyway and hope for better light from processing. Oh well, nothing to do but keep trying. |

Thank you, Gloria. I imagine I'll need to do some dodging and burning on the original. I'm not as good (subtle) with color D&B. Oh well. |

The black tails are so mottled and tend to merge with the muck. I am not much of a wildlife aficionado, which makes me a poor commenter. |

Thanks, Kate. I grew up in the age of B&W. Cameras, television, movies, and life itself were comparatively simple. I usually make a B&W copy for comparison and also to see tones from pure white through pure black and then pull back from the edges of the histogram. B&W is not for everyone. |

Thank you, Dan. The light hitting both peaks made this a difficult image to crop. I may need to crop each out. I should have taken multiple exposures as the dynamic range exceeded my camera's ability to get all the data. This is a more B&W try. I don't use any plugins from DXO, but I used to like Nik, especially Siver Efex.

Lightroom is getting more AI features too. Not a lot different than Hawaii to me. I miss being able to go there. I might consider a crop and I tried two different crops that I'll share. I couldn't decide on colors, as Mexican palms might be different. Lots of good work here. A muted color.

Fantastic color and composition balance. I like the slight glow. The only possible nitpick would be the lower right corner where there might be a bush silhouette. It can hardly be seen, but... |

Hi Dan, you have really created a powerful image. Your creativity is at an elevated level.
I might check the symmetry of your car, using PS rulers. I think it is horizontally symmetrical, but the grill is slightly off vertically, which might cause a nitpick in competition.
I wish the rust side had something to balance on the opposite side of the tree, but when I tried, I couldn't figure out anything. Best left as is, although it might become an image that is fun to play with when you are in the mood. |

Hi Kate, Delightful story of birds seldom featured by nature photogs. As far as competition goes, in-camera composition without much processing is required by Nature, PJ and Travel divisions. That being said, any image can be improved by post processing. The tail of each bird confuses me, but I still tried Dan's suggestion of improving separation. I don't know if it can be taken to another level, especially by me. |
