I don't know anything, obviously. In the June 2018 PSA Journal the winning POM in B&W shows a bridge with the sheep in a similar position. No wonder I never take popular images. I need a lot of work to get better. |

I added a link to the new DxO Nik Collection, mostly for you, as I know you liked it. It is no longer free, big surprise, but does have a 30 day free trial option. You may not know as much about processing as some, but your high number of acceptances prove that your processing is appealing to competition judges. |

I removed many of the helpful links I had up. I haven't gotten any feedback from the group that they were actually "helpful" |

Profiles were added to LR CC and ACR in April. Profiles are starting points based on millions of similar photos being compared to the image being developed. Unlike presets, which move tonal, color, and effects sliders for you, profiles just give you a jpeg like starting point and then you can edit and create your image into your style without limiting the sliders. |

Thanks, Jim. I'll work on the spotlight some more. |

Thanks, Bill. We actually liked the ride, but photography was probably not a great idea. Sometimes you just gotta enjoy the experience! |

I think Tam's idea to crop the trees helped me with the geese. There is plenty of trees in the reflection, and that makes the birds more valuable, in my opinion. |

Thanks, Tam. It is really wet below Niagra Falls. It was a struggle to put my camera to the wet test. |

Street photography is not for the timid. I like your explanation of why you took this image. What I would have liked better is to take on the musician head on, and use a wider focal length. That would get you pretty close to the subject, isolate him more from the wall, and I think, add a lot of interest. A couple steps closer, to the left, and say test it at 24 mm for a DX camera. |

I think this is very sharp, and can't really see well enough to see Karen's adjustment, but she is a technical perfectionist, so I'll guess she is right on.. The composition is great. Simple diagonal line of heads, three birds of one color, and an adult of another. Nicely blurred and muted background. The chick feeding is all akimbo, but what kid that age isn't a messy eater! For entry into a general competition, I would probably remove the feeder wire in Photoshop. |

Perfect composition. I like the flow of lines, the flow of colors, and your details. Excellent camera work. |

As always, you have a master technical image. Tack sharp, lots of detail, pleasing color, and scene. I'm not as sure that the geese aren't a distraction, since they are swimming parallel to your bridge. Congrats on your star. |

Sure, it is an upside down columbine! Actually it is pretty hard to know until the petals open. I thought maybe you used a color from the stem to make the background, but I'm not sure. Very sharp, tonal quality is good and detail is good. Color, I think< is your subject? Not as exciting as most of your compositions. |

Hmmm. If you take a look at the Helpful Links menu above, I posted a video about the new profiles section on ALR and PS CC update last month. Take a look. I don't know if Elements has profile selections

I'm not sure what to make of your comment, but the more I look, I think I was too heavy handed with the spotlight. I know that you mostly stick with reality photography, so this probably has no appeal to you. That is fine. |
