Good thoughts about photography. I am wondering though, what you all in the NE did to make Mother Nature so angry with you. Looks like another 12 inch snowfall and lots of wind for y'all! FOUR nor'easters? It's not nice to fool mother nature! Stay inside and as warm as you can. |

Thanks, Bill. I just noticed a merger with his head. I'd better fix that. |

Except for the state fair, I don't really enter exhibitions. I'm just not that good. With the new category, QPSA, I may start. Our club really just likes nature photography, so their critiques are pretty "subject"-ive. Thanks for all the comments. |

Got it. I still find that because of the bright white on the bottom glass that it still leads my eye out of the image. Karen does remind us how checking the background is as important as the subject. I didn't see the debris either. |

He was giving his spiel on the old smithy jobs. There wasn't any work. Makes his living as an actor for Mucross Farms. I was just born a century too late! |

I hope you enjoy the new camera. Sharp, clear, well exposed and a good subject. My only suggestion is the merging of the clouds and the lifeguard shack is a little distracting for me. A minor nitpick. Good job. I am surprised about the PP. |

Love the experiment. Exposure, clarity and simplicity are really good. I'm not sure about the reflection though. The spectral highlight draws my eye from the glass. I can't figure out a good way to remove it in PS or LR though. Terrific lighting, on the glass. I need to try more experiments now that I can see again. Great image. |

I think you have properly (though maybe not legally) taken a good show image. You show a lot of talent making these images. Crisp, clear, and perfectly exposed. Good shot. |

I seldom get good images from Hawaii, But I think this has good possibilities. I like that the spray is on an angle. The wave adds a nice curve too. I took it into PS to add some curves to the lightest and darkest parts. I cropped it a little from the top. I think Jim is right, that the rocks are a little dark. See if you like these effects. |

This is the first time I've ever seen or heard of this place, even though I lived in Vallejo and Novato for years. The NM (thought you meant in New Mexico, duh)threw me off as I quickly read your description. Anyway, the image is sharp, perfectly exposed and is an interesting angle. The sky is probably the killer for competition. You could replace it or try in B&W. This a cropped B&W version (red filter). Probably too cropped for Travel, but decreases the amount of shy. |

Nice sharp image. Composition is well thought out, with plenty of room. In my opinion I think a closer crop would be better. The diagonal works well. You didn't mention any post processing, so I'll assume you are an "in camera" photographer. Skin tone is good, but I think the one speed-light over exposed her neck a little, although that might just be make-up. I think her skin texture could be improved with a slight blur added. I also added a radial spot and vignette to better highlight her. You have good portrait skills.
A hint about comments and images. If you click on any of the images, it will open full size in a separate window. That feature really makes seeing much better, especially the edited thumbnails. |

I'm not sure that I really wanted it brighter. There is a lot of noise added below his outstretched arm. This may be the result of increasing the luminosity. I didn't see any chromatic aberrations in either image, so I didn't try to fix that. Thanks for the suggestions. |
