Thank you Gary and welcome to the group. I thought that the blurry trees worked better than sharp ones when I tried it. Though I am going to play around some more with taking it out all together as Trey and Charles suggested. I did not like it last time but I did not spend time doing the cloning right maybe. |

Thank you Gary, I like you prefer the blurry trees since it looks incongruous with the clouds when I replaced the tree. With regard to post processing, I would welcome feedback more since it is a personal preference. I chose to go with warmer tones here since the sun was bright and early morning when I took the shot. I used layers in photoshop, such as selective color and brightness to change to warmer tones. |

Thank you for the detailed feedback Lou. Typically when I shoot with long exposures, I do take a couple of shots with fast exposures so I will have images to replace blurry aspects like trees. With this image though, the tree did not look natural when I replaced since the cloud movement behind does not match image when I replace, especially the dreamy aspect you mentioned seemed lost. I also thought it looked better with the tree to balance out composition but will try again to remove tree and see if it looks better. |

Great image Charles. Just something to try, cropping the sky a bit since it is not adding much variation and hence making the barn more prominent. |

Nice image Scott. A minor suggestion I have is to increase the foreground of trees and also the sky a bit more. When using the content aware fill while cropping the image in Photoshop, it does a really good job of adding to the image. I think then the framing might be slightly better. |

Lou, If the main subject was the cactus, it might help to decrease the depth of field and shoot blurring the background a bit, it will give it the pop of color in the background but will amplify the cactus better. Just something to try out |

Gary, I agree with the previous comments, this picture does better in color than black and white. I read and watched videos on the topic of "seeing the world in black and white". There is a common misconception, which I had also where I thought maybe a bad photo might look better in black and white but realized now that you have to understand the color wheel and shoot with darker contrasts if wanting to process in black and white. Here I think the wall of the mountain is a bit over exposed and hence the contrasts in B&W might not be sufficient. Have you tried some dodge and burn with it? |
