for me it is also an interesting image and in the direction of low key.
May be a make the image a bit darker so more low key can could improve the effect.

Thank you all for your comments, I thought to take a little bit time before answering, I tried to put the ideas into the picture and the result is the post what is more or less Peters suggestion.
I think there are a lot of possibilities and the basic idea was to make a Triptychon, see the image original 1.

Judith, I just post the proposal which I created from the color Image and where I tried to put the blue eye to a strong Point and removed the twigs

Hello Charles, a nice Situation and not much to say, just an idea and a small Experiment. Because the conductor Looks into opposite direction it might be interesting to Mirror his head so that both persons are in contact with their eyes.

Hello Tracy, when I scroll more into the picture I see round vertical lines in the sky or fog. For me the foreground could have a Little bit more Detail. So I post a proposal with little bit more light to the sky which has influence to the lines and used a Detail Extractor from NIK for the foreground.
