Hi Peter,
That's what these critiques are all about, to point out things, give opinions, and help everyone learn. As I have said before, I learn more from constructive criticism than from praise. Praise is nice to get, but usually you have nothing to improve on, if all you get is praise.

Hello Kamal,
I was reading Larry's critique and his comments were"most of the film felt like a drive by. It felt very repetitive." and I have to agree, but that can be a good thing. For me, I felt that these were scenes that I would never get to see myself. Unless you have security clearance you are not allowed on the tarmac at an airport. So for me this drive by was a fun experience.
I was amazed at how many different kinds of planes there are. I don't have the knowledge to know what all these plane are, so I felt that you should have had some titles describing all the different planes we were seeing.
I loved the end of your video, where you were making a landing approach at the airport. What a great job you have !!
I enjoyed it very much.

Rajani,
A beautiful Video. You commented that you felt the video was a bit long. Maybe so, but to be honest it was so beautiful that I wished it could have been longer. This would be a beautiful location for some aerial photography. I know that you couldn't fly in the rain and probably would have had a hard time getting to these locations by car, but just looking at the beauty of it, I would have loved to see some aerial views.
Your still shots are outstanding as always.
I started noticing the change of scenes at 2:59. I think some soft fade transitions would have worked well.
At 3:09 to 3:15 you used some vertical shots that I felt worked well to show the beauty and majesty of the falls.
At 4:16 you used another still shot of a sunset that was absolutely beautiful. Larry had commented "you held the camera position long enough to let me enjoy and feel the moment." I'm not sure if he noticed that was another one of your absolutely beautiful stills.
Again at 6:19 Larry commented "The very blue segment of the boat sailing toward the falls @ 6:19 created a mood I will not soon forget." Yet another one of your award winning stills!!
You know, there are little things that one could pick at that could be improved on, and that is true with any video. But, it is rare that you find a video that is so beautiful and enjoyable that you hardly notice the faults. I have now watched your video 5 times and I am going to watch it again.
Well Done !!

Hello Peter,
A very nice video! I must say that I agree with Larry tohough. Because there was so much beauty to see, it seemed that everything was rushed to much. I spent two years in Europe in the 1970"s and I know how beautiful and historic it is. Most people viewing your video have never been there and it would have been much more enjoyable if they could just take in all the beauty without being rushed. I know that in the past we have commented about not draging a video out to long, because the viewer will lose interest. Well, the oposite is also true, if you go to fast the viewer will also lose interest because they can't enjoy the beauty of it all.
I loved the Rhine Waterfall, that was beautiful. It would have been better if we could have heard the sounds of the rushing waters.
I'm glad that you took us on this European trip, it brought back a lot of wonderful memories.

Larry,
Thank You for the feedback.
To be honest the burn out portions were something that I didn't even notice while making the video. As I have mentioned before, flying the drone is my first priority and my photography comes second. Flying the drone with-in the confines of the river and the high banks was not an easy task and all of my attention was on the flight. Maybe with more practice I will become better, but unfortunatly I don't get out enough to fly and practice my art.

Larry,
I'm sorry I haven't had the time to respond sooner. I and I am sure the rest of the video group really apreciate your reviews.
You have spent an extreme amount of time with our videos and it has been very helpfull. I like that; Treadwell, Cisco and Ebert what a review team. (Two Thumbs Up)
Thanks Again

Hello Rajani,
Thank You, I'm glad that you liked the video. The other drone that you are seeing belongs to a friend of mine. We went flying together.
I would encourage you to get another drone, but Practice, practice, practice. Don't go flying into canyons unless you are sure of what you are doing. You have to be able to maintain a signal between your controler and your drone. If you noticed in this video there were higher banks on both sides of this river. I supose I could have lose the signal there, but I stayed low, and within eye-sight in case it went down. |
