Hello all,
I am Dick Burr, Admin of Group 84 video. I have been following everyone's work in Portraits for about a year now and I love all of your work.
If I may, I would like to comment on Salvador's portrait.
I really like the wood texture with a ancient frame around the picture, but I feel that the clouds in the background could have been left out. To me, it looks like she has white puffs of smoke coming out of her hair.
The shadow on her forehead is a little distracting, but you can see that it is coming from the lock of hair
that is hanging down, which explains it.
All in all, I love the image. Beautiful woman and beautiful shot. WELL DONE !!

Kathleen,
I enjoyed your video very much!! I truly wish that you weren't leaving our video group. We have only had the opportunity to view two of your videos and I loved both of them.
This video was very well done and just watching it made me feel cold. As a child, I lived in Superior, and I can very well remember how cold it got.
I really liked the music you used.
VERY NICE, WELL DONE !!

Fion,
I loved your first video and I agree with Peter. It would have been better with a few motion clips. As is, it is a very nice slideshow of some very nice images. Please don't misunderstand me, there is nothing wrong with your video, in fact I did the same thing In January and March of 2019.
I love your editing software, using the various, very cool, transitions and Picture in Picture effects.
I thought the music was a very nice choice and went well with the video.
WELL DONE !!

Peter,
An amazingly beautiful video.
I love the use of stills mixed with the videos and very nice transitions. The slow motion effects worked perfectly.
When zooming in and out on the still images, between 1:03 to 1:16 the images seemed a little out of focus or not as sharp. This probably occurred during the rendering of the video.
Your videos are always so good that I always have a hard time trying to give you advice on what to correct.
Another excellent job.

Thank You for your input Peter.
I agree there are a lot of ways that I could have shortened this video, but as I said above, for me the option was to either show it as is or not show it at all. I did not want to change it in any way because this is what I presented to the family.
I'm glad that you loved it.
By the way, I am the Pallbearer with the black shirt and Vietnam cap on in the image.

Thank You Rajani,
The first video at the tomb of the unknown soldier was to honor a friend of mine (Tom Grover) that was killed in Vietnam 50 years ago.
This video was made to honor another friend, who by the way, fought with me in that same battle that Tom was killed in. Steve Pettit lived for 50 years after he returned home from the war, but he suffered very much from the effects of Agent Orange which was a defoliant that was used in Vietnam to kill vegetation. Unfortunately it killed us Veterans too.

I would like to comment on what I did with this video. I want to apologize for breaking my own unwritten rule. This video was over eleven minutes long, and I have asked everyone to try to keep their videos to five minutes or less. The reason I did this was because this is the video that I presented to the family and I didn't want to change it in any way. So, my choice was to either leave the video as is and post it for all of you to see, or to not use it for PSA. I chose to show it to all of you in our PSA format.
Maybe this is a video that I should not have been shown on PSA, but rather sent to everyone in a private e-mail, but what is done is done.
I think it might be a good idea to have an off-line discussion with everyone on what is and is not permitted in our videos. I think that all of us should have some input in this. This 5-minute rule is something that I suggested and is not a written rule, and there are times that I feel it could and maybe should be broken. In my opinion this was one of those cases.
