Hello JoAnne,
I am Dick Burr, admin of Group 84 Videos. I was looking at Group 49 images and was impressed with yours. It almost looked like it could have been taken with a drone. If I may suggest some post processing on your image. (See My example) I cropped the top and bottom of your image and I adjusted the contrast. |

Rajani,
I do get nervous when I fly the drone. It's an expensive piece of equipment that you have 400 feet in the air. If I could fly it every day I might feel more comfortable with it, but because of many reasons it is not possible to fly every day. With practice you do get better at flying but it is not easy to do. I have found that I have to concentrate more on my flying and not so much on the photography. I've been flying for about three years now. In the beginning I would only fly it short distances until I got good at it. The range on the drone is three miles, but the FAA regulations say that you have to keep it in your line of sight and not go over 400 feet up.

Rajani,
Another absolutely beautifully video. Your use of stills along with your time laps videos made it look amazing. I especially liked the time laps of the Milky Way. You are a very talented photographer!
I was also wondering if you use focus stacking when shooting some of your shots. So many beautiful still shots!
Really Well Done !!! |

Peter,
I agree with Rajani, it is not easy to shoot videos hand held with a DSLR. I shoot a Nikon D810 and have tried several times to shoot hand held. Very hard, especially with a telephoto lens. Your video really turned out nice, I really enjoyed the subject matter. Butterflies are a fun and interesting and can be difficult to shoot. You did a very nice job. It looked like a few shots were a little out of focus, but again not east to do. All in all, very well done. |
