Hi Lance, what a great image you've made! I love everything you did to it. I'm surprised you could photo a snow forest so interesting, also the sky and the cloud behind the trees are so dramatic. Very nice job! I played with your image a little bit and converted it to b/w. With the comparison I can see the strong effect on your version of the image by the color tone. But by itself, it's still a very good image. |

Hi Georgianne, I like what you did to the image and it looks like a move film to me after your b/w conversion. Nice job. I like your composition too, the tree trunk at front of the house and the fence made the image very interesting. It's educational to read all your discussion about how to make this image better. Personally, I like your original b/w color. My point already been well covered in those conversations. Thanks. |

Hi Judy, very interesting still life. :) I like this simple way that you put two boots together and created such an interesting image. I think you did a great job to convert the original image into a b/w one. It's definitely better than the original image. Agree with Lance, I think a square crop might be a good way to present the subject too. Also, agree with Georgianne, we would like to see more details on the boots, such as the fabric, etc. I used the curve to make a small adjustment and found lighting up the boots not a bad idea neither. |

Now, it seems a little bit too lonely. Or maybe keep the posts but remove the other trees reflection.

Hi Dirk, beautiful high key image! In the image, I like the simplicity of the composition. Beautiful reflection and very nice shape of the left branch. I love it. Wonder if you accept modification of the scene or not, such as removing some other reflection and the posts. I feel it might look better if only this tree and reflection w/o others. I did a small modification as the attachment. Dirk, you did something that I want to do but haven't succeed yet. Thanks for the inspiration. I'll try some of my own snow shots later. |

Thanks Judy! Good suggestion. I did as you recommended in a blue cast, though not quite fit in our mono photo group. :) Not sure if I did the blue cast right. I like it. The trees are the original shade, I think it maybe due to the snow reflection, the front ones are in lighter color. |
