Hi Jose, thanks for such a beautiful relaxing ocean view. I think your conversion did a great job to cover the image into a good amount of grey levels of b/w. The three boats seem like sharing their own stories about the ocean. Somehow, I have a similar thought as Dirk did, I wonder how the image looks like if there is only one boat there. I would keep the horizontal composition but just remove two boats. |

Hi Georgianne, I enjoy reading all the other members discussion about this image. You captured a very interesting moment. I think you did a great job to convert this into b/w. I agree with other teammates input. I like what you did to darken the background too. I wonder how it will look like if dimmer those bright spots on the wall and the grass bed. |

Hi Judy, I like your b/w conversion on the image. I'm glad to read so many discussion. I agree, it's amazing that there is so much to learn about lighting in portrait. To me, somehow I like your conversion as it's brighter which bringing in a lighter mood. I might suggest to tone down the bricks and the pants instead. :) |

Dirk, what a beautiful image! Love it. I like your conversion of the b/w, such dramatic and almost flattery. :) I think the image is so perfect that I could not pick on it at all. :) If I must say something, I might suggest to remove the half eye overlapping with the peacock face. I like your golden rule cropping too. It's refreshing. I also wonder how the traditional symmetry cropping would look like in this b/w approach. Peter, I like your mirroring of the peacock. So cute. :) |

Hi Judy, Peter, Stephen, Jose, Georgianne and Dirk, thank you so much for your input. I really enjoy reading your comments. Judy's comment made me see a different perspective. Stephen, very nice to know that the original image is a kind of monochrome also. Thanks for your input as I never thought of it before. I am glad this image brought in many of your thoughts. I like Jose, Georgianne and Peter's improvement of the image to darken the geese and the vignettes. I tend to agree with Dirk's summary that the brighter of the sky could cover the over exposure of the Sun. Georigianne, sorry I might have deleted your edited imagine by accident. I tried to download it as I did not see too much different between yours and Peter's. Not sure why. If you get a chance, can you please upload it again? Thx. :) |
