Mary Ann - I like your 2nd version much better! The mist becomes much clearer and better portrays the day that you experienced. You don't say if you used Lightroom - it's so good now, particularly with the mask capabilities. You may have done this, but the landscape mask is a quick way to create separate development zones for sky, land, sea (or you can combine last 2). So differing contrast/clarity is easy to play with.
Interesting that you set your camera to mono - I've never done that and may try it (taking it for a walk and only seek out mono targets). |

Well seen and I can understand the amusement of the hat moving with the music!
Very effective mono conversion. I agree that the bottom table isn't needed - and further, you could play with further directing the story and eye to just the hat, by removing the two brass plates (and one mount) - particularly the one closest to the hat. But nice image as is. |

Vincent - I've enjoyed your dancers! This is "perfect", helped by the square crop with all the lines and shapes. A very 'clean' image. Perfect in mono. |

Thanks Paul. Agreed re lack of space to the right, but think I just got away with it. |

Bob - your mono really enables the viewer to enjoy the detail and textures on the old/modern buildings and the clear evening helped you here. I enjoy looking round your image - but would ask if you need all the lower bank. Very nice mono conversion. |

David - very impressed with your creativity! Beyond me!
Your wildlife shot is well taken. I can understand you seeking to make the output more artistic is understandable, given the plain sky - Mary-Ann's mono is a good conversion but creates a sort of dull result. But I don't think the sharp bird with the textured rest hangs together. Perhaps it needs a less detailed sky and keep the original foliage. |

Hi Maria - Groups of zebras can look wonderful, especially when drinking and this works very well, although there is no reflection. I like the fact that you have one facing you and on the far one, the main is seen well against the bank. I like your crop. |

Hi Richard, you used a fast enough speed to freeze its shaking - interesting that there was no water left on the fish or its beak spraying wide and far as it was shaking.
Your exposure was good - not easy to keep so much feather detail on white birds.
You don't provide an original file, so I imagine you've chosen to crop tightly to concentrate on the head/fish - quite effective. |

Hi Bruce - Nice image! Well timed with a raised paw and with both eyes clear.
Yes, the coyote I have seen (at Yellowstone) had a thick coat - I imagine your one was in the Refuge for a good reason to help it as much as practicable. |

Isaac - First of all I am glad the park is no longer: I dislike large animals like Lolita being kept in a tiny space (relative to what their normal life).
Great images though. |

Bruce, I believe this area changes regularly depending on the flow of water - meaning that an area like this with good colours can end up being dull and uninteresting if the area dries up. Is that right? |

Richard - thank for your comments. As to why I used such a fast speed- 15 years ago I was inexperienced! But I would have concentrated on aperture and depth of field, not worrying about speed. |

Cindy - lovely image this. Personally, I wouldn't change anything. I like the shore there. Your stork is sharp, well exposed and presented here, with interest holding the fish. |

Gosh Steve, you are so lucky to be able to enjoy such lovely birds at home! Envious!
Lovely winter image. A cheerful one. Your jay is sharp and very clear with defused snow in the background.

Sunat - nice picture of a Great White Pelican. Nice lighting. It is sharp and your exposure was spot on. As one who doesn't like animals sat the the centre, I would remove some of the right so it's looking in the frame better. I would also consider selectively (bird only) increasing the contrast just a bit (or Dehase). |

Jerry - I like this! It's walking with real purpose or intent, giving the image a story and character. I like the square crop. Sharp and colours seem realistic to me (ie not over-saturated). The background does seem a bit muddy, but I wouldn't have thought its noise (you mentioned low ISO). |

Thanks Jerry - you are right that area looks bright, but the histogram shows no over-exposure. Nevertheless, I will tone it down a tad. |
