Thank you Richard - I agree (as do all others) that it needs to be easier/quicker to understand what's going on and the white in the water does not help. I will lighten the fish separately and to a lesser extent, lighten the birds. |

Hi Isaac - This is a fabulous image. Very simple, but all so sharp. I love the diagonal of the dragonfly and your use of f10 was enough to create a wide enough depth of field. Perfect background. |

Hi Maria - you have captured a lovely moment here well done. There is so much detail and colour of the feathers in the Ibis.
I think we all agree that a tighter crop is best for the image and I also like Bruce's suggestion. I also agree that the Ibis as presented is a tad dark and I would lighten the shadows of it (only), but probably not lighting it as much as Isaac has suggested. All very personal preferences, but I like to finish with a believable end result.
Lovely image. |

Hi Richard. I think your aim here is to finish with an arty image, completely different from the norm.
Assuming this is right, I would take what you have and go further into art/painterly effect, rather being left with an image that looks like you haven't corrected for cast and noise issues. Enhance these issues and play with a vignette using a similar cast/colour is my suggestion. |

Hello Maria. It is fun trying to capture a small scene like this. You have done well in blurring the water.
As you say, this is a close up of "snow, ice and flowing water", but as presented I don't really know where to look. I know where I want to look and that is only the central area, so that the frozen water attached to the heather forms a far greater part of the image. And one wants some flowing water (nice and blurry), plus some snow.
So I would experiment with cropping from all 4 sides, to push the viewer to understanding that it's the frozen water and flowing stream that is the core message, with some snow visible to support that. |

Thank you Cindy. I hadn't thought about the single direction facing of everything - whilst liking the scene - you've identified why it works! |

Steve - thank you and yes it I'd different looking out for photo opportunities when zooming along, then snapping quickly, hoping the camera setting I've changed to end up right. They aren't always! |

Cindy - very envious of you going to the Pantanal area - we were due to go in the Covid period! Must rebook!
This is lovely! It's very well taken and presented. All looks perfect to me. |

Steve - this must be a very successful card for you! It's lovely, with much to enjoy separate from the bird. I particularly like the tap shape and the pink paint on it plus the house edge. The fact the bird's beak is left of the house is helpful. |

Sunat - this is perfectly captured! Pin sharp. You did well increasing the canvas from the original, to that the final image has plenty of sky to fly into.
I would reduce the sky width behind the bird by as much as a half, then you judge how much sky feels right (you many not need quite as much). I also suggest lightening the shadows of the bird slightly, to bring out a bit more detail, while leaving it as a believable amount of shadow.
Lovely bird in flight image! |

Jerry, this is a well captured and presented image of action. The head is pin sharp. Yes it's a fun image but I find the amount of body in front of the head not ideal. |
