Yup Isaac, Icelandic horses are very special and unique - there are significant rules designed to prevent and interaction with any other type of horse.
Lovely shot showing natural behaviour. Maria's road removal is cleaver and does improve the image. |

You've caught this bird showing character. Your crop is good to my eye, with its head on our left looking right. Your shutter speed caught the action well, but I agree that I find it best to use say 1/1,000 for all bird shots - double to treble this for birds in flight - the extra IOS and resultant noise can be dealt with nowadays in PP.
Your final image has good detail and colours - you could do nothing about the flat lighting conditions. |

Barbara - what a lovely bird. My first reaction (not having ever seen one) was that the bird seems slightly washed out with bird and background a tad bright. But I respect Isaac's comment above. Looking at the original, I would instinctively mask the bird and lighten the shadows a bit to bring out more detail which you final image shows, but to me the sky has ended up with a tint (not shown in the original).
Either way, a lovely bird and shot! |

Maria - lovely lighting here and the bird's shape all make for a successful image. I very much the variety of colour in their necks and body. Great detail shown. |

Bruce - Gosh I'm glad the good-old BBC came to your rescue!
The interlocking horns and their expressions make this a very interesting shot, very sharp and well presented. Lovely. |

Cindy, your camera craft shows great skill here with so much detail retained. A lovely image enhanced with both the reflection of those legs going in a multitude of directions and you timing this shot with its beak open. Gorgeous! |

Steve - I agree that to my eye, you have left the image looking natural in twilight - it would be easy to lighten it to give more detail and eye colour, but this feels very natural. You have shown the complete hole and that makes sense - it would also look well as a square, loosing the top 1/2 of the hole. Very nice and you are so lucky to have wonderful wildlife within walking distance (as well as in your garden). |

Sunat - I love this! Very striking image. A very good capture with a narrow depth of field with nicely defused background and well developed. Taking a bit off the right would be worth doing. |

Bruce - a very dramatic image! It's very well captured with an interesting and your f4.5 delivered a narrow depth of field, whilst all the bird being sharp. Lovely. I agree that something has resulted in our view not being 100% sharp - either the file size/internet effect or a tad of sharpening desired. |

Jerry - this is both nicely taken and developed. The result shows an egret with good character and detail in its 'coat' - the strong yellow of eye and feet really helps.
I too would move it from the centre given its head position. |

Thank you Isaac. You were lucky to have one awake and to slightly open its eye and mouth. Strange birds! |
