I like the ethereal look of this Bruce, with much detail in the bison. It is really haunting how it is staring at the viewer!
I suggest this effect may be enhanced by cropping from the left slightly, so it is looking more from the left than centre. Nice image Bruce. |

Maria , what a lovely experience to spend time with these! I like your picture very much. It is one of an overall scene which includes the animal, rather than one that concentrates on it.
I would crop a fraction from the bottom to exclude the sharp purple part-flower and very fractionally from the right. This will just leave the moth on the intersection of the right and bottom thirds and with its direction of flight, should help. Very nice image. |

Huge thanks giving us all the info. Very interesting.
I don't finger your picture too contrasty, which is all o out your huge wasp and you have brought out good detail and colour. Yes, the yellow berries are mostly out of focus, but that is the nature of macro shots. Nice unusual image Chris. |

Barbara, I also prefer Bruce's tighter crop, given the many branches. As presented your image seems too bright with your hawk needing more punch like what Isaac has suggested. Your timing with the shot was perfect to show its intent and concentration. |

This is an impressive group and I also feel you would be best to restrict your pano to a smaller group. Even having a tight crop starting on the left excluding the left 3 egrets and stopping on the right at the gap ahead of the right 3 hippos. |

Thanks Maria. Yup you're lucky by Sidney to be able to see these large creatures. I have seen them leaping near the top of mainland Norway and a week ago leaving Reykjavik: this was fabulous seeing over 20 leaps but inevitably it was at a distance. |

Yup, I enjoy seeing whales but doing so within a reasonable distance to photograph is rare. |

Thanks Isaac. We have booked on a trip to go into Antarctica early 26 (as an extended circa-navigation of S America) so hope to see much wildlife there then. |

Steve - This is a lovely image to grace any wall, particularly in a room where you don't want art to shout out at you. Sharp, clear and well presented. |

Sanat - This is a lovely image and it tells a good nature story. You have processed and presented it very well. My only suggestions would for you to consider:
- toning down the richness of the blue water a bit, and
- cropping from the bottom a little: I would prefer there to be materially only green below your heron as a base to the image - particularly to the bottom right side where that rich blue detracts my eye a bit. |

What a story Bruce! And a wonderful well timed capture. The quality shows through by you not having to do much PP work. Well done. |

Marge - Again congrats for that wonderful "showcase image" - well done!
It unusual to see a bird taking off like this in a picture. I would help emphasise the upwards movement by keeping sky to move into at the top left and above, but take off the bottom and right to ideally have the osprey ideally below mid way top-to-bottom and more right/centre. Its eye helps to empathise the direction of travel. |

Cindy, this is a lovely colourful image. It is sharp where needed and ones eye really goes to the main bird's eye! Good PP work. I also like Marge's crop as it also takes the light area away from top right and my eye sees the stem of the yellow plant too much. |

Jerry - I think you have 2 pictures here! Your relatively tight from works very well. I like how its leg comes from the bottom left corner and the image is all about that look to its catch.
But a version like your Original 2 works well with the reflection. Not as punchy but still a solid picture. It does look to me to be as sharp as your main close up one and you may not have processed it to the same extent. |

I checked the file and there was no catchlight - so I've tried to create one, but I've never done this before! Here is my attempt - I would be glad for any comments! |
