I prefer your original image with the bottom 2 facing each other nicely.
I only use Lightroom - masking in it is now very good. Selection can often be via Subject or Object (I find the rectangle tool better) - then refining its auto selection via the + or - button and brush works v well to accurately masking what you want. Then right clicking the main mask icon and selecting duplicate and invert, gives you all outside your original mask, often useful to reduce brightness etc. |

Mono certainly works here Isaac and I'm impressed with what Maria has done too. His darker mouth stops our eye going to it and we see his grey hair better. The background also disappears. Impressive image of an impressive beast. |

I'm also going to favour the crop to have just 2 in Heather - I think this makes your story stronger. Your composition with the log coming from near the bottom left corner is good.
Looking at your original, I think the two turtles would benefit from localised (just them) lighting the shadows to enable the viewer to better see their colour. Nice image, it just needs a little more work. |

You have caught this bee well Barbara and your R5 has easily enough pixel horsepower to crop more tightly so the bee is bigger in the frame. I would crop even more than Isaac. I like the flower being same colour as your bee. |

This is a very pleasing picture Chris, partially because all the shades tie in together. For this reason, I don't find the left branch offensive or distracting. I would though consider:
- cropping a little from the top: you don't need all the bananas and this would reduce or remove the brighter space extreme top left and
- lightning the shadows fractionally for your bird only, to give it some more punch.
But either way, I like your image Chris. |

Maria - well seen! I love crabs as they are so charismatic. My sightings have been more on firm areas rather than sandy at its really interesting seeing this behaviour.
My first thought on seeing your image was that there was too much out of focus sand and if the viewer does not know what is happening (and the title not available which is the case in Exhibitions) then the wiping of eye action won't be seen. So anything that helps direct the viewer is helpful. |

What an amazing experience Bruce! Your image certainly gives the viewer a sence of close up involvement! More space is needed in front and I wander if you cropped any off. Adding canvas wouldn't be allowed for Nature class, but would be fine for open colour. |

This is a beautiful image Cindy! It has a lovely soft feel to it, while the fly catcher has much detail and is v sharp. I like your crop, but a bit more off the bottom may also work. |

What a great capture Marge: well done. I like your development of it and would also suggest you play with removing a bit of the sky to the left and a bit more at the bottom. This would make the bird bigger in the frame. |

Great capture Steve and you are lucky to be able to take pictures like this from home. The eyes certainly make this image! I would consider lighting the shadows of the birds (only) to bring a little more detail out. Cropping is very personal and yours and a slightly tighter crop both works for me. |

Hi Sunat. You have captured this very nicely. Tom has sharpened more that this enhances your image. Presumably you can do this with Topaz. as to cropping, your version has the bird too central for my taste and would suggest you remove sky from the left and top a bit, leaving what you have in front of the bird to fly in to. I try to have right flying birds positioned slightly left in the frame. |

This works very well Bruce, made by the soft pink colour- making it a successful unusual image. I like the way it's looking left and you have positioned it perfectly in the frame. |

Thanks Jerry - I agree Bruce's work shows off the bird better and will play with my original accordingly. |
