Thank you Bruce. I guess it depends on whether the main focus is mother or child. I'll play with it in Lightroom. |

Hi Isaac - your composition with the diagonal from the bottom left makes this image. Great detail in their coats and the timing of your shot shows good action amongst the herd. |

Lovely sharp shot Barbara! I too like your crop, giving good amount of space to all the vegetation he's playing in. Tells a good story. |

A lovely portrait landscape Chris - nice to see a portrait one! The branch leads in very well and you have done well to ensure a wide depth of field.
Could you give a tad more information as to where it was taken - I don't know where that meadow is or recognise the mountain? |

Maria - you captured this chap really well. I understand your plan to show him of the full branch, but I also feel Isaac's crop shows enough of the plant and benefits from being larger in the frame. |

Thank you Chris for taking the time to look back and your kind words. I agree with the comments re the bright leaves. I love having many eyes look at my output - hopefully I learn through time! |

Thanks Isaac and I agree that the brightness of the leaves needs toning down a tad. |

Cindy - nice scene and yes, there is more than one way to show it. I agree with Jerry's shape. Having part of the flower area sort of asks the question should it be there at all. But having it all tells a fuller story. I would play with the brightness of the cactus to get it less bright relative to the woodpecker. |

Marge - This is a lovely early morning scene captured and presented perfectly. It's still, yet there is action - I love the water ripples. The scene keeps me looking round the image to seek out more detail. Well done. |

I loved your detailed story telling Steve - thank you. What a great experience! I guess you have many images of a parent feeding its young too.
Your image is lovely, telling the action story well. |

This Roller is in lovely light Sunat. I also would use a portrait shape here, with him left of centre which will feel right with the bird and pole shape. I would also experiment selectively lightening the shadows a bit, particularly on the body, but still keeping the feeling of it being natural - to emphasise the range of colours more. Nice shot! |

This is a great action shot, with very good feather detail in both birds. It's good that your timing has the left bird's claws above the oysters. |

Thanks Jerry. No I don't use a flash for wildlife photography (while I have a good one) as most of my wildlife photography is a good or long distance away from me.
As to the small amount of flower retailed, that was principally the result of me thinking that this image suited a square format. Here though is a rectangle one, in case you and/or others consider this to be better - but you may have been suggesting far more of the flower - but this adds to the amount of sky in the picture. My thoughts are (I may not be right!) that one does not need to see much of the flower to understand what the bird is going to seek nectar from. |
