Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
72 Mar 24 Reply Thanks Maria - I have taken on board all what the group have said re extra contrast etc - I fear too much wanting to present an image which is believable as being as what I saw! I attach my altered edit - which has had contrast/Dehaze added in different amounts for the surface than the wildlife. Mar 19th
72 Mar 24 Comment This has lovely detail Isaac. I love to mud everywhere, caked on and more recent damp. I suspect you've lighted his eyes which helps to proved a tad of colour with the oxpecker. He's looking straight at you. Great image. Mar 15th
72 Mar 24 Comment Hi Leah. Ruins like this is about there state within the landscape, so to my mind seeing its surroundings is ok. Having said that, as Bruce mentioned, an image positioned a tad to your right may have presented more of the building and allowed you to ignore the branches. You don't state what pp you did and I wonder if you added any texture to the stonework to add more detail. Mar 15th
72 Mar 24 Reply Many thanks Isaac - it does look better Mar 10th
72 Mar 24 Reply Thanks Bruce - I will look at contrast for the turtle. I'm learning re underwater photography from a low base! I still
Want it to look natural though.

Thanks for wildlife pointers re Cape Canaveral. We wanted to spend our time at the Space Centre (8 hrs) which was amazing. Will want to do something different next time, so I'll keep your suggestions thanks.

91 Mar 24 Reply Many thanks Marge - I agree! Mar 19th
91 Mar 24 Reply Thanks for your thoughts Jerry. Interesting observation. I think to bring back space from the left will add unnecessary detail, but I do accept the position of the bird within the frame is unusual. Mar 15th
91 Mar 24 Comment This is a striking image very well presented Cindy. I like where you've positioned it in the frame with space to help its direction of travel. It's very sharp - Bird detect software in cameras now is so good - it helps us get far more keepers, that's for certain! Your pp has emphasised the detail nicely. Great image of an 'ordinary' bird! 91 Mar 24 Comment Marge - an intimate moment well captured. And you were there to witness it.

But how to present a single finished image of the scene isn't easy. I like Cindy's crop as resulting in less distraction and the right hand side does not add anything. I would also try to tone down the bright background, so our eye can more easily stay on the birds. I also think the left bird could benefit from the whites toning down and a tad of Dehaze slider to improve its definition.

91 Mar 24 Comment Steve - they are a lovely pair! They are perfectly positioned!

I like the square format. Well done on the speedy sale!

91 Mar 24 Comment A good image of an interesting bird Sunat. I like how the bird is presented and what you have done to the background, as it's less distracting. It's a matter of taste how much of the background you show - before reading the comments above, I had concluded that I would take a tad off the right, to get him a bit more away from the centre, but still leave what you have on the left for space for him to look into. 91 Mar 24 Comment Bruce- this is a lovely lite chap and you've caught him perfectly looking directly at you. He is just right on my screen (lightness wise). I don't find the branches distracting as he is a small bird and would operate in trees like shown. Mar 11th
91 Mar 24 Comment Hi Jerry

I like the concept here of showing a bird in flight with vegetation having removed the tree, but have doubts. Its posture and leg position looks like it is about to land and if this is right, you've removed what it would land on.

I can see some tree to the left still visible and there are a number of placed of the sky which is seen to be lighter than the rest of the sky - caused by the mask of the bird being too imprecise. I find this takes quite some time to get right.
