Thanks for visiting and commenting Cindy. I hadn't noticed that the original wasn't perfectly upright. |

Isaac, this is a very interesting image of a group, with one clearly on lookout duty making it even more interesting as a behavioural image. Thank you for posting with the narrative. |

Welcome Leah.
A good record and one a local history group may be interested in having. It certainly looks unstable! |

Nice study Barbara with excellent detail wand well recovered from relatively high ISO. But to me a close up study of and bird must include its beak. |

Mary. Lovely and interesting shot well presented. I am on a cruise within the Caribbean and have tried snorkelling with an Olympus tough camera and have a few more trips underwater ahead in the next few weeks. I found the white balance really hard to deal with and have much to learn! |

Maria, thank you for posting this nice shot of your two cormorants, which is an interesting shot with the two presenting themselves differently. |

You have presented us with a lovely image Cindy, well done. Small birds shouldn't be ignored and this proves it! The yellow berries help make this a really pleasing image of what looks like a proud wee bird. The square crop looks perfect. It would look great framed on a wall. Well done.
I add that I find it interesting re your web comment. I think you have warmed the bird up a tad. I take virtually every shot in Daylight WB and rarely feel I need to change it, other than early or late shots where I wish to make the scene warmer. But I like to start with a firm base by not starting with the uncontrollable Auto setting. I will though try to remember to watch for the subject being in different light than the majority of the scene as here. So thank you for your comment! |

The light really makes this Marge and capturing him taking off may not have worked anyway - so many variables to work against you. I like the wide view of the tree to help describe the scene. Very nice image Marge. |

Nice shot Steve , helped by the raised foot adding a little 'something' to the scene. I too would suggest a tad more off the left - unless you are standardising on a shape for your exhibition. |

Well done in listening the bird in a way that looks 'real' - the end result looks good. The branches look right too, as does the sky. I like your crop.
I've taken birds recently with strong back-lighting and have either taken them with at least a stop over-exposure, or adjusted the metering to spot (from evaluative). This worked in giving me a Raw file with the bird less under-exposed but the sky overexposed. I still had to adjust both the bird and sky in pp, so I haven't really concluded what's best! |

A quirky image Bruce, beautifully presented. Having one eye looking at the viewer can't help but to raise a smile! |

Lovely image Jerry. It suites your square crop and your PP works has produced a fine, clear action image, but also an interesting and artistic one. Would look good framed on a wall! |

Thanks Jerry. I couldn't do all those change things even if I wanted to. I don't use Photoshop and never will. |
