Thanks Bruce and I like what Marie did after your post and will certainly make the white areas less distracting while leaving them there. |

Love your edit Marie. Thank you and I will see what I can do to achieve a similar result as I have never used PS. |

Gosh what an unusual image Isaac- or picture of what I regard as unusual. I'm not sure the pink/blood makes a pleasing image - but it is certainly well captured and presented. Sorry if my lack of familiarity with spoonbills affects my judgement. I wonder what it would be like as a mono. |

Your heron (per Isaac, I wouldn't have been sure of that) has plenty of character and his lighter shadow areas really helps. I love your background. |

Nice simple image which is striking Marie. The central area is nice and sharp but the f5.6 has restricted your DOF so most of the petals are just not sharp. Whether adding texture and using something like Topaz A1 Sharpen could make the primary petals 'sharp enough' |

Thanks Isaac. We're returning to Cartagena during a long cruise next Jan/Feb and intend to focus on its history. I rather like the white misty areas and took many different shots because of them introducing some mystery feel. I may be alone though. |
