72 Apr 23 Comment Isaac, I'm sure you chose this image to show us because it's more unusual - thank you. I am on a cruise to Svalbard in June and have booked a walrus trip, so looking forward to that and I note you took this at 400mm. Did you crop it much?

My only observation is the face and whiskers don't stand out clearly because of shadow I think.

72 Apr 23 Comment Maria - a lovely portrait and I like how you have darkened the tree, allowing the eye falling directly on its face. Plus good clear detail on the feathers, particularly for the silver area. Apr 23rd
72 Apr 23 Comment A bird with so much character and well captured Maria - and well developed with good detail over whole bird. A fun image that makes me smile. Apr 23rd
72 Apr 23 Comment Mary, It's always interesting looking at old images and 2008 was quite early in the digital camera revolution. I had the 30D - 300D was my first and it was a big step to the 30. Your then gear and your technique created a sharp, clear image. Your 2nd can't be argued at re white balance; her coat looks realistic to me given bright sunlight. Apr 23rd
72 Apr 23 Comment Maria - Really clear, clean sharp image and the pose is so true like to kestrels search for prey the word over. You caught this one in lovely light. Apr 23rd
72 Apr 23 Comment A stunning image Bruce and so unusual - a very individual portrait that should do you very well should you wish to enter it in any type of competition etc. well done. Masai Mara is a very special place and I'm sure you both had a great experience and came away with many keepers. Apr 17th
72 Apr 23 Reply Hi Maria, you too refer to Barbara rather than me - I'm a tad confused why. But thank you for your comments. Being at nearly 500mm equivalent, I used f8 to make sure what I wanted to be sharp was so, but I will try blurring those in front/to rear a tad. Apr 15th

Many thanks for your comments - although I'm not sure why you see this as being Barbara's images!

Sorry if I confused you in my narrative - the journey by 4x4 was over rough ground, but all images were taken on foot. I very much like what you have done with my image 2. Thank you.
