Hi Sandra,
Great exciting movement and colour captured here.
This image i especially adore in portrait format , vertical.
As it is on screen , tilt to the left or right , works for me . |

Hi Marie, What a lovely colourful image. I love Lotus flowers and Water lillies , so always a pleasure to view them.
I find the white highlights a little bit too bright , in particular the triangular shaped highlight on the lower left as i view it on my screen.
Thats just my opinion , regardless, its a beautiful image. |

Such a delightful image Valerie, and lush tones.
I would not change anything , you have done a great job as it is.

Hi Karl,
I shall try the crop that you suggested, but for me the inclusion of movement needed some empty space to flow.
Personally i think if the image was to be cropped i would not include the loose central anthers.
Possibly another image will come from this so thank you.
I have not heard of your suggested paper, and i too love watercolour papers , I am presently using Hahnemhule Sumi -E for my Cyanotypes , i think the choice of paper in Fine Art is very important. |

Thanks very much Judith, especially lovely to hear that you wouldnt change a thing.Thats made my day.
My method;
2 Flowers were used.
I placed the main flower on the Lightbox, The lightbox being slightly tilted 45% , so that the main flower would not fall forewards.
The little floral anthers were positioned by me with slight saliva on my fingertips and gently tapped down, ensuring no saliva went onto the lightbox .(In fact i can see a spot of it here.)
Tripod with camera in situ, using a cable release ( LEFT HAND ) allowed me to position another flower on the lightbox to the right. This one in my right hand and on the base of the lightbox i held its stem. On pressing the cable release i gently rotated the stem to the right just by moving my forefinger and thumb, ensuring i remained side on out of camera .Use of the slow shutter speed with cable release and tripod, made it possible , however the shadow left from the 2nd moving flower was very faint
but with some burning i managed to replicate the main flowers shape.
A final crop of the base removed any hint of my hand movement. |
